Role Description We're looking for a hands-on Product Manager to drive both new product development and optimization of existing products within our financial services software portfolio. You'll work directly with CFOs and finance teams at banks and credit unions to understand their challenges, define product strategy, and deliver solutions that solve real problems in complex financial environments. This role requires someone who thrives on customer engagement, can navigate ambiguity in new product development, and has the technical depth to partner effectively with engineering teams on enterprise software solutions. This role reports to the Director of Product Management and works within a product organization transitioning to verticalized product directors overseeing specific domains. You'll have significant autonomy to define strategy for your product area while collaborating with a small, growing product team. What You'll Do - Customer Discovery & Strategy - Conduct hands-on customer research with CFOs, analysts, and finance/treasury teams at financial institutions to uncover jobs-to-be-done and underlying needs. - Translate customer insights into product strategy and roadmap priorities that drive measurable business impact. - Build deep understanding of financial workflows, regulatory requirements, and decision-making processes in banking. - Product Development & Delivery - Own end-to-end product lifecycle for your product area, from discovery through launch and optimization. - Define detailed requirements for complex financial calculations, integrations, and enterprise workflows. - Partner closely with engineering on technical architecture decisions and trade-off discussions. - Drive product delivery with clear prioritization, managing competing demands and resource constraints. - Cross-Functional Leadership - Influence without authority across engineering, sales, customer success, and executive stakeholders. - Communicate product vision, strategy, and trade-offs clearly to different audiences (technical teams, executives, customers). - Collaborate with product marketing and sales on go-to-market strategy and demand generation. - Work within a growing product organization as we scale a large, highly integrated solution suite. - Continuous Improvement - Use data and customer feedback to iterate on existing products and drive adoption. - Identify opportunities to reduce complexity and improve user experience for user base. - Balance new feature development with technical debt and product quality. Qualifications - 5-7+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software. - Proven track record of shipping complex products that customers actually use and value. - Direct, hands-on customer discovery experience - you personally conduct research, not just review findings from others. - Strong technical aptitude - comfortable discussing system architecture, data models, APIs, and integration patterns with engineering teams. - Experience working with enterprise buyers and navigating complex stakeholder environments. - Demonstrated ability to define product strategy and make sound prioritization decisions under constraints. Preferred (not required) Background - A grasp of financial accounting concepts (balance sheets, income statements, cashflows, yields, etc…). - Familiarity with Jobs-to-be-Done framework and other structured discovery methodologies. - Track record with both 0→1 product builds and optimization of existing products. Critical Capabilities - Customer-centric mindset: You're energized by talking to customers and digging into their workflows to find the real problems. - Problem decomposition: You naturally dig past surface-level requests to understand the underlying problem and then structure solutions into manageable pieces that can be sequenced and delivered incrementally. - Hands-on executor: You do the work yourself - discovery, requirements definition, prioritization - not just delegate. - Clear communicator: You can explain complex topics to different audiences without losing the thread. - Comfortable with ambiguity: You can drive forward in new product development without perfect information. - Strategic thinker: You articulate trade-offs, defend decisions with logic, and connect tactical work to business outcomes. - Learning mindset: You can discuss specific failures, what you learned, and how you've applied those lessons. - Collaborative influencer: You build trust and drive alignment across functions without formal authority. Not a Fit If You: - Prefer to delegate customer research to specialists rather than doing it yourself. - Focus primarily on strategy and vision without hands-on execution. - Need extensive structure and guidance to operate effectively. - Struggle to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely. - Are not authorized to work in The United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
