Role Description As a Marketing Leader, you will serve as a trusted partner to early-stage startups, helping them define, execute, and scale their go-to-market strategy. You will operate on Dover’s marketplace as a fractional marketing leader, working directly with founders and leadership teams to drive growth. This includes everything from positioning and messaging to demand generation, product marketing, and growth strategy. Marketing Leaders on Dover focus on high-impact strategy and execution, while collaborating with other experts on the platform (e.g., recruiting, HR, legal, finance) to support the broader needs of their customers. You have the flexibility to use your own tools, partner with preferred firms or vendors, or work within a company’s existing systems. Marketing Leaders start as independent contractors on the platform and have the option to build long-term relationships with companies. - Partner with founders and leadership teams to define and execute go-to-market strategy - Develop positioning, messaging, and brand strategy - Design and run growth and demand generation programs across channels - Lead product marketing, including launches, customer insights, and market segmentation - Establish and optimize marketing infrastructure, analytics, and performance tracking - Identify and prioritize highest-impact growth opportunities - Collaborate with other Dover experts (e.g., recruiting, HR, finance) to support company building - Build strong, trusted relationships with founders and operators Qualifications - 5–15+ years of marketing experience, with a focus on startups or high-growth companies - Experience owning or leading marketing (e.g., Head of Marketing, VP Marketing, or first marketing hire) - Strong experience across core areas: positioning, growth, demand generation, and product marketing - Experience working closely with founders and executive teams - Track record of driving measurable growth - Clear, structured thinker with strong judgment and prioritization skills - Comfortable operating independently and managing multiple customer relationships - Ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution

You will operate on Dover’s marketplace as a fractional People leader, working directly with founders and leadership teams to design and execute People strategies that drive business outcomes. This includes everything from hiring and onboarding to performance management, compensation, culture, and organizational design. Heads of People on Dover focus on high-impact leadership and relationship-building, while collaborating with other experts on the platform (e.g., recruiting, legal, finance) to support the broader needs of their customers. You have the flexibility to use your own tools, partner with preferred vendors, or work within a company’s existing systems. Heads of People start as independent contractors on the platform and have the option to join Dover full-time. - Partner with founders and leadership teams to define and execute People strategy aligned with company goals - Design and implement core People programs across hiring, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and employee experience - Lead organizational design, workforce planning, and scaling efforts as companies grow - Advise on employee relations, feedback cycles, and building a strong, healthy culture - Establish and optimize People operations, policies, and compliance frameworks - Help startups navigate complex decisions with clear, pragmatic guidance - Collaborate with other Dover experts (e.g., finance, recruiting, legal) to support cross-functional company building - Build strong, trusted relationships with founders and operators Qualifications - 5–10+ years of People/HR experience in startups or high-growth companies - Experience owning or leading the People function (e.g., Head of People, first People hire, or senior People leader) - Strong experience across hiring, performance management, compensation, employee relations, and People operations - Experience working closely with founders and executive teams - Strong judgment and ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion - Clear communicator with the ability to coach and influence leaders - Comfortable operating independently, managing multiple priorities, and driving outcomes - Able to balance strategy with hands-on execution in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

You will operate on Dover’s marketplace as a fractional legal leader, working directly with founders and leadership teams to provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal guidance. This includes everything from incorporation and fundraising to contracts, hiring, and compliance. You won’t just answer legal questions; you’ll help companies make better decisions. Startup Counsel on Dover focus on high-impact advisory work and relationship-building, while collaborating with other experts on the platform (e.g., recruiting, HR, finance) to support the broader needs of their customers. You have the flexibility to use your own tools, partner with preferred firms or vendors, or work within a company’s existing systems. Startup Counsels start as independent contractors on the platform and have the option to join Dover full-time. What you'll do - Advise founders and leadership teams on a wide range of legal matters, including company formation, fundraising, governance, terms of service, cap table considerations, and compliance. - Draft, review, and negotiate key documents such as financing documents, employment agreements, and commercial contracts. - Serve as ongoing outside counsel to your customers, acting as a strategic thought partner rather than a transactional service provider. - Assist with immigration-related needs by coordinating with external counsel, tracking key dates, and helping teams understand options and requirements across jurisdictions. - Help startups navigate complex decisions with clear, pragmatic legal guidance. - Collaborate with other Dover experts (e.g., finance, recruiting, HR) to support cross-functional company building. - Build strong, trusted relationships with founders and operators. Qualifications - 10–20+ years of legal experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and/or in-house experience. - Experience in core startup legal areas: incorporation, fundraising, contracts, employment basics, corporate governance, commercial contracts, and immigration coordination. - 3+ years working directly with startups or high-growth companies. - Experience working closely with founders and executive teams. - A pragmatic, business-oriented approach to legal problem-solving. - Excellent judgment and ability to balance risk with speed. - Comfortable operating independently and managing multiple customer relationships.
