• New Business responsibilities focused on new business applications, quotes, direct quotes, account cross sell, account rounding, account upsell and bookrolls • Account Management inclusive of renewal underwriting, endorsement processing, certificates of insurance and account support as needed • Serve as the primary contact and liaison with agents of the Service Center and managing the day-to-day servicing, renewals, and new business • Manages account(s) oversight directly with customers and agents to include New Business quoting, direct quoting and Renewal Underwriting • Respond to questions regarding product availability and discounts, billing and payment options, policy status, complaints and other customer/agent inquiries in a first time final manner. • Deliver strong customer service by responding within 24 hours to inquiries, concerns, emails, and faxes, and returning phone calls same day • Efficiently handle incoming calls and/or e-mails from existing customers and agents. May handle outbound calls and follow up work as required to process requests • Provide accurate policy information to policyholders and agents regarding commercial lines insurance products • Develop and maintain relationships with agents, customers, other team members • Maintain current understanding of service techniques, underwriting guidelines and product offerings • Research underwriting information and request appropriate underwriting support documentation needed for each account

• Select, price and develop coverage terms for small commercial lines accounts to achieve profitable underwriting results and assist with providing leadership, support and coaching for the underwriting function • Review new business applications to evaluate degree of risk involved • Accept or decline risks based on company’s underwriting policies • Review application for completeness • Contact agents for missing or incomplete information • Using sound underwriting judgment and technical skills, and continued personal development to meet the company goals of quality and timeliness • Assist data entry unit on the processing of new business, renewals, policy changes and all other related transactions • Interpret insurance coverage’s for agents and insureds; answer telephone inquiries from agents and insureds regarding coverages and pricing • Maintain and establish good working relationship with agents and communicate underwriting decisions to agents and insureds • Review policy renewal information to determine if properly priced based on exposure; determine if policy should be renewed based on company criteria • Review and approval all policy changes submitted • Assist other functions or departments with enhancing and developing existing products in order to enhance the underwriting process

About the Role The Technical Assistant role primarily performs new business entry, renewal prep, policy change, and various other processing tasks to support Donegal’s independent agents and underwriters. High volume, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to handle a wide range of tasks on any given day. Reporting through Donegal’s Underwriting Services Department, this role is part of Small Commercial Operations and provides a career development path in Commercial Lines for those who excel. Responsibilities and Duties - Completes manual new business entry for various Commercial lines of business - Enters and processes manual policy change transactions for all Commercial lines of business - Performs review and pricing adjustment of low complexity Small Commercial renewals - Processes various mid-term policy transactions - Provides timely, courteous, and quality customer service to internal and external partners by meeting specific transaction-level SLAs - Reliable attendance and punctuality are a must Qualifications and Skills - High school or GED equivalent - Experience in processing-related roles is a plus - Previous insurance or related work experience is not required, but is a plus Starting Pay: The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. The specific offer will vary based on an applicant's education, qualifications, professional experience, skills, abilities, and any applicable designations/certifications. The posted pay range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience. The pay range may also be adjusted based on an applicant's geographic location. The base pay is just one component of Donegal's total compensation package for employees. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan. • Responsible for prospecting and appointment of agents in order to build a strong distribution channel. • Provide training to agencies on new programs and services in order to assist the agent in achieving their established goals and objectives with the company. • Effectively communicate Donegal Companies’ corporate goals, products, rules, rates, and incentives to agents to achieve a profitable book of business and build a strong business relationship. • Provide personalized attention on sales calls to ensure optimum position within the Agency. • Effectively communicate with each agency on the types of commercial lines business we are interested in quoting. • Responsible for directing agents to utilize Donegal’s WritePro and WriteBiz systems, and generating personal lines quote activity. • Will provide Commercial quotes to assist agents. • Work closely with individual agents in order to generate new commercial lines business opportunities. • Develop individual Agency Plans, which include the financial objectives for the specific agent to include premium, loss ratio, new and renewal policy count goals. • Discussions held frequently with Agents to review their progress versus plan toward their goals. • Analyze agency profitability for each agent within their assigned territory. • Develops and implements agency action plans to meet financial and strategic goals and any corrective actions as needed. • May include training, re-underwriting, rehabilitation programs, mergers or agency termination. • Works closely with underwriting to implement corrective actions with agents as needed. • Facilitate at least two agency reviews each year with underwriting to review the agent’s performance as compared to the established goals and implements correctives measures as needed. • Responsible for marketing company products and services. This includes a working knowledge of the interface capabilities of our company, monitoring of agency activity and arranging training of new products and services. • Routinely visit agents in assigned territory and prospect for quality agency appointments.
