Senior Digital Director Department:NDWA **We will begin reviewing applications on May 6th. Early submissions are encouraged.** Employee Type: Permanent, Full-Time Reports To: Chief External Affairs Officer Department: Digital Entity: NDWA, CiA Hours per Week: 40 Salary: $122,000- $144,000 Work Location: Remote Start Date: July 2026 BACKGROUND: The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is the leading national voice for dignity, respect, and recognition for domestic workers in the United States. NDWA was founded in 2007 by organizers and worker leaders in six cities representing nannies, house cleaners, and care workers, and now represents an alliance of more than 76 organizations across 22 states and 395,000 domestic workers nationally. We envision a society where domestic work is valued as essential to our collective well-being, domestic workers are leaders in shaping the care sector, and domestic work jobs are good, economically secure jobs. For over 15 years, we’ve worked to advance our mission by making domestic work visible. We’ve worked to pass policies that enable rights and higher wages for domestic workers across the country, changed public awareness and opinion about the dignity and value of care work, and built the capacity and leadership of domestic workers to organize and advocate for their rights. We see the next era of our organization as an opportunity to move domestic work from newfound visibility towards transformation, and we’re ready to elevate care workers to the essential workers of the 21st-century economy. We’re a multi-racial, multi-lingual organization building a powerful movement rooted in the human rights, dignity, and equality of domestic workers, care workers, immigrant women, and women of color. POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Digital Director is a strategic, visionary leader responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s digital presence and engagement strategy to drive advocacy, grassroots organizing and mobilization, fundraising, and brand visibility. This senior role oversees the full spectrum of digital operations—including web, email, SMS and digital advertising—with a sharp focus on audience growth, engagement, and measurable impact in service of the organization’s mission. This is a unique opportunity to lead a digital program that requires sophisticated audience segmentation and journey building, innovation in organizing and mobilization, and a strategic mind towards building for the long vs short term. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of how digital tools can be utilized as a power and movement building tool and a familiarity with 501(c3) and 501(c4) advocacy. This person can move from digital persuasion and community building, to cross-channel marketing, and distributed organizing all in a day. This is a senior-level role that will manage and mentor a team and is also expected to be a visible and active organizational leader. This position reports to the Chief External Affairs Officer. PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Digital Strategy & Leadership - Develop and lead a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with organizational goals, and campaign priorities. - Identify and implement innovative digital organizing tactics to expand reach, increase supporter action, and grow the organization’s digital base. - Utilize digital strategies to grow domestic worker membership (a pool of 2.5 domestic workers nationally to target), and organize our existing domestic worker base, including both organizing workers into online programming spaces and leading online to offline strategies and overall digital plans for 9+ local NDWA chapters. - Grow our 501(c4) membership and create a funnel from online to offline activation in partnerships with Organizing and Policy/Campaigns. - Serve as a senior thought partner to executive leadership on digital innovation, trends, and rapid response opportunities. - Responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring budgets to ensure effective allocation of resources, and alignment with organizational goals. - Oversee vendor and consultants, includes scoping, contracting, and performance management.. Team Management - Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of (5+) digital professionals. - Build cross-functional workflows with data, tech, communications, development, policy, campaigns, and organizing teams to align digital strategies. - Create and maintain systems and best practices for digital organizing and digital marketing systems. These include trainings and templates for digital campaign managers and local organizers to collaboratively develop digital strategies and tactics; best practices for the use of NDWA’s digital tech stack; and shared systems for measuring impact and tracking progress toward goals. - Model strong communication practices, including timely responses to team needs and blockers during working hours. - Foster a culture of responsiveness, accountability, and proactive problem-solving. - Ensure digital team workflows are well-integrated with organizational communication tools (e.g., Slack). Operational Planning & Campaign Execution - Develop clear, detailed campaign plans that translate strategy into executable steps across teams and channels. - Ensure all team members can easily understand their roles, timelines, and deliverables through written plans and documentation. - Build and maintain workflows that minimize meeting load and maximize clarity and accountability. - Establish standards for campaign briefs, run-of-show docs, and execution plans. Content & Campaigns - Oversee creation of compelling content and campaign-style communications across digital platforms to drive action and engagement. - Conduct quality assurance reviews and establish quality assurance protocols for all digital communications. - Integrate distributed and relational organizing tools into campaigns. - Lead execution of integrated digital campaigns that support legislative, electoral, and brand goals. - Work with the Communications and Content teams to produce persuasive digital storytelling that amplifies organizational impact and elevates the voices of domestic workers, care workers, and care recipients.
