Role Description Dawson Group is seeking a collaborative and analytical Senior Financial Analyst to provide financial insights, performance analysis, and strategic support to help drive operational and business success. As a valued member of Dawson Group, you will work in a permanent, full-time position of Senior Financial Analyst reporting to the Corporate Controller. This position is based in Kamloops, BC; however, Dawson Group embraces distributed work, providing the flexibility to work from home. - Act as the primary finance partner to operational leaders, providing financial guidance, performance analysis, and support for operational decision-making. - Analyze job margins, contracts, change orders, billings, job costs, inventory, and overall business performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. - Lead the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, and monthly variance analysis, providing actionable insights into key business drivers. - Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, KPI reporting, management reports, and operational performance metrics. - Assist in the setup of a new construction management software with the eventual goal of being the subject matter expert within the organization. - Assist in helping to integrate new software to existing programs in an effort to automate processes and assist operations in having real-time financial data on projects. - Develop financial models and ad hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and operational objectives. - Monitor revenue recognition, profitability trends, and cost controls to ensure financial accuracy and support informed decision-making. - Collaborate with Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Operations teams to resolve financial issues and improve reporting processes. - Support annual audits, ERP implementation initiatives, and continuous process improvement projects. - Provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, financial performance, and overall business outcomes. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. - Minimum 6 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting. - CPA designation, or progress toward obtaining a CPA, is considered an asset. - Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting capabilities. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. - Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Experience in construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, or other project-based industries will be considered a significant asset. - Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools. - Working knowledge of NetSuite. Role Description Dawson Civil is looking for an experienced Estimator who will skillfully assess costs, collaborate with stakeholders and partners, and leverage industry expertise to deliver precise and competitive estimates. In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Civil, working in a permanent, full-time position of Estimator, reporting to the Manager Operations. Your base location will be Kamloops, BC and will require travel throughout our great province. - Prepare a comprehensive project cost estimate including; labour, equipment, materials, safety, subcontractors, overhead, taxes, insurance, and mark-up. - Review drawings and understand the contract documents of each tender. - Visit the jobsite to gather information on access, topography, drainage, power supply, material sources, haul times, existing conditions or services, water source and other specifics as required. - Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and estimate the cost of materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor's work, ensuring all areas have been accounted for prior to submitting tenders. - Analyze quotes made by subcontractors for completeness, competitive pricing, ability to perform, and scheduling restraints. - Assess equipment needs, operations sequence, crew size, and site constraints. - Manage the cost, negotiation and settlement of change orders and mitigate potential claims during construction in conjunction with the lead Project Manager.
