Role Description As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you’ll process and analyze accounts payable and administer our departmental systems. You’ll connect with business partners across the organization on invoices, ensure the timely and accurate verification and payment of invoices, monitor compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines, reconcile assigned accounts, and prepare and approve journal entries. You’ll also be challenged to recommend improvements to departmental operations and controls, streamline existing processes, drive efficiencies, and represent the department on operational and system project teams. - Contribute to the development, administration, and evaluation of policies, procedures, and applications necessary to process administrative disbursements in accordance with regulatory and accounting standards, as well as company policies. - Represent department on operational and system projects to define business requirements and testing needs. - Work with appropriate areas to resolve system issues. - Serve as administrator for one or more departmental systems. - Administer credit card and Travel and Expense (T&E) Card programs and investigate and resolve potentially fraudulent activities. - Provide support to clients on applicable accounting processes and compliance. - Train and guide department specialists. - Review the work of department specialists, ensuring adherence to defined procedures and controls. - Serve as departmental resource for query library/reporting. Role Description Collect, review and evaluate audit information to ensure class codes and accurate calculation of earned premium for risks. Communicates with reps, clients, and vendors to evaluate policy/rating data and determine needed changes to the policy and ensure proper classification and premium basis before transactions are processed. How does this role make an impact? - Ensures accuracy of class codes, calculation of earned premium and overall procedure handling to ensure audited exposures are accurately calculated. - Obtain client financial records necessary to process audits, changes or other transactions on policies in order to complete the audit transaction. - Monitors auditing system reports and batch processes to take appropriate action on audit related functions. - Develops reports outlining findings and makes recommendations to improve accuracy. - Explains the audit process, results, collects required information and answers questions from clients, Financial Reps, Underwriting and Billing. Assesses cedent quality and exposure accumulations, while maintaining disciplined underwriting standards. Develops innovative methods to gain actionable insights from reinsurance portfolios, enabling better risk management decisions. - Evaluates cedent submissions, exposure data, modeling results, and historical losses to assess risk quality and determine appropriate terms, conditions, and coverage structures. - Develops, sustains, and enhances relationships with brokers and clients, gaining a thorough understanding of client portfolios, and advising on risk acceptability and treaty terms. - Develops technical pricing using actuarial methods and catastrophe models; assesses accumulation impacts; and contributes to portfolio balance, profitability targets, and cycle management strategies. - Structures treaty and/or facultative reinsurance solutions and leads negotiations with brokers and cedents to achieve mutually beneficial terms while adhering to underwriting guidelines. - Conducts qualitative and quantitative reviews of cedent underwriting practices, financial strength, and data quality; ensures files meet documentation, regulatory, and internal governance standards. - Partners cross‑functionally with various internal stakeholders to validate assumptions, refine pricing, clarify contract wording, and support deal execution. - Monitors market trends, coverage developments, and underwriting results to inform pricing, guidelines, and portfolio strategy; contributes to process improvements and tool enhancements. - Maintains accurate pipeline, referral, and bound records; produces underwriting summaries and performance reports; and supports internal audits, regulatory requests, and compliance reviews.
