Title: Recovery Coach Location: Granite City United States Job Description: Overview Are you passionate about supporting individuals and families on their recovery journey? Do you have the skills and dedication to make a positive impact in the community? Join our team at Chestnut Health Systems as a part-time Recovery Coach at Granite City, IL and help us promote recovery and well-being for our clients. As a Recovery Coach, you'll help individuals and families dealing with mental health and substance use issues by meeting with them, understanding their needs, and connecting them with the right treatment and support services. You'll work with community partners, provide guidance and encouragement, and assist clients in overcoming obstacles to their recovery. Essentially, you'll be a supportive guide, helping people navigate their recovery journey and regain control over their lives. Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of behavioral and primary health care services. Over four decades, Chestnut has grown to almost 800 committed, compassionate employees providing substance use, mental health, and primary care treatment to patients in Illinois and Missouri. We provide fully integrated care for all our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Chestnut also conducts research and training throughout the U.S.A. The role consists of 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule to accommodate various shifts. The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $17.00 - $18.00 per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity. Responsibilities - Client Engagement and Support: Meet with clients, explain the project, and enroll them in recovery support services if they agree. Build strong relationships by understanding their strengths, needs, and barriers to treatment. Provide pre-treatment engagement in the client's home as needed. - Community Collaboration: Partner with local organizations like One Hope United and Bethany Social Services to connect clients with behavioral health and primary care treatment services. - Active Linkage and Advocacy: Connect clients to recovery communities and support services, organize sobriety-based activities, provide transportation, and advocate on their behalf to ensure they receive necessary services. - Ongoing Monitoring and Education: Help clients overcome barriers to recovery through continuous support, monitoring, and appropriate recovery education. Encourage clients to take control of their recovery using appropriate recovery language and tools. - Service Coordination: Work with caseworkers, treatment teams, and community partners to ensure continuous and coordinated care for clients. - Documentation and Compliance: Complete all required documentation and data entry promptly, adhering to program and agency policies. Ensure confidentiality of all client and organizational information. - Team Participation and Professional Development: Attend all assigned meetings and trainings. Support team members and engage in professional development to achieve or maintain relevant certifications. - Customer Service Excellence: Promote a culture of customer service excellence within the organization. Qualifications - Must be at least 21 years of age. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Preferred experience in recovery and/or engagement in a recovery network, mental health, substance use, or other social/human services but not required. - Valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and must be insurable. - Basic computer skills, including videoconferencing, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and electronic medical records (EMR). Title: Recovery Support Specialist PT Location: Granite City United States Type: Regular Part-Time Category: Mental Health Job Description: Overview The Recovery Support Specialist (Housing) plays a vital role in supporting individuals living in Chestnut's mental health housing programs as they work toward stability, independence, and self-directed recovery. This position provides hands-on, recovery-oriented services in a residential setting while modeling hope, empowerment, and trauma-informed care. This part-time position will work Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 7:00am to 3:30pm and be based in Granite City, IL. This role works closely with consumers, housing staff, and community partners to promote wellness, safety, and engagement in services. Responsibilities - Model, practice, and promote a recovery-oriented approach grounded in trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, wellness, and connectedness - Support consumers in developing personal responsibility, self-advocacy, and confidence through professional, compassionate interactions - Provide consumer-driven services identified in treatment, recovery, and safety plans while maintaining at least 65% productivity of available time - Teach and reinforce recovery tools, including Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP), and utilize recovery-focused language in all documentation - Assist consumers with referrals, linkage, and advocacy to community resources, natural supports, internal programs, and discharge placements that promote independence - Promote positive relationships within Chestnut and with community partners, including substance use providers, hospitals, medical staff, and Medicaid partners - Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with program and funder requirements, including: - Progress notes and required data entry (80% within 48 hours of service delivery) - Medication Administration Records completed in real time - Thorough and timely shift reports - Participate in meetings, consumer staffings, program development activities, and required supervision and trainings - Answer incoming calls, manage messages and mail, and monitor video surveillance equipment when applicable - Collaborate with coworkers, supervisors, facility staff, and tenants to maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment - Maintain confidentiality and protect all consumer and organizational information Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of five years of personal lived recovery experience. - Alternatively, a bachelor's degree with personal lived recovery experience. - Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) in good standing with the State of Illinois, if applicable. - Basic computer skills, including MS Word and experience with an electronic medical record (EMR). - Valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and insurability. - Ability to work at multiple housing sites and cover assignments at other locations in advance or in response to urgent staffing needs. Overview Chestnut Health Systems is seeking one full-time Community Health Specialist to assist in coordination of the Bond County Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC) project. This grant seeks to expand recovery supports by decreasing stigma, building community capacity, and raising awareness. Successful candidates will work closely with the Bond County Recovery Council. Supervision for this project will be out of the Granite City, IL office. You will be working majority of your time in Bond County, IL. Note that the successful candidates will work primarily from home or in the community. Mon-Fri typically Daytime, Hours. This includes, but is not limited to, recovery support events and projects, community trainings, and other evidence-based programs for adults or community members. - Lead community groups in their development of evidence-based programs and practices by facilitating their organizational activities, including meetings new member recruitment, and communication with members. - Assist in development of grant budget. Manage budget and submit regular updates to supervisor. - Conduct outreach services with community stakeholders. Provide data supporting importance in partnering on health area of concern. - Develop, conduct, and analyze needs assessments and program evaluations. - Develop, implement, and evaluate media campaigns and/or other educational/informational material based on current research and grant requirements. - Identify funding opportunities and coordinate, develop, and write grant and contract applications. - Provide program/grant contract reports in an accurate and timely manner. - Take a lead role in mentoring and training staff and interns, routinely and consistently. - Participate and take leadership role in local, state, and national advocacy groups/collaborations. - Fulfill agency and funder responsibilities including staff development, monitoring research, participation in agency meetings and committees and other responsibilities as designated by supervisor. - Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness and spirituality/connectedness in all interactions with others, including utilizing recovery language. - Maintain and protect confidentiality and security of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial and client information. - Promote Chestnut's culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut's behavioral standards for customer service. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Position requires a bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, a master's degree with two years of relevant experience; or be a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor (CADC) in good standing with the applicable state and ten years' of lived experience, mental health, substance use or other social service experience. - Knowledge of recovery, program development, needs assessment/evaluation and community capacity building is required. - Experience in grant writing and budgeting is preferred. - Must have ability to provide leadership, handle large projects, and collaborate with others within the agency and community. - Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Zoom and online reporting systems is required. - Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance, be insurable, and have home internet connection. - Position requires ability to travel to locations within the site plan area. - Must be able to obtain DCFS CANTS Child Abuse Clearance.
