Title : Community Development Specialist Location: Granite City United States Job Description: Overview We are seeking a Community Development Specialist to join our team. This position operates in a hybrid environment, including office, remote, and community-based settings, with regular travel throughout the state and occasional evening and weekend hours. This role focuses on program development, community outreach, training, and evaluation to support behavioral health initiatives and strengthen community capacity. Responsibilities - Assist in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of programs, including trainings, outreach initiatives, and community events - Conduct outreach and engagement with community members and stakeholders using evidence-based behavioral health practices - Develop, disseminate, and evaluate educational materials, trainings, and program resources - Facilitate trainings and presentations, ensuring timely and accurate collection of evaluation data - Complete and submit program and grant-related reports and documentation accurately and within required timelines - Support program budget development and monitoring, including submitting monthly budget reports and assisting with funding opportunities and grant applications - Collaborate with local, state, and national advocacy groups related to behavioral health and community initiatives - Participate in agency meetings, staff development, and program planning activities, and provide support to team members as needed - Promote trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care in all interactions, emphasizing empowerment, wellness, and respect - Maintain strong community partnerships and represent Chestnut in a professional manner - Ensure confidentiality and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards Qualifications - Master's degree in behavioral health, public health, education, or related field with a minimum of 2 years of related experience OR - Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience - Experience in program development, needs assessment, program evaluation, and community capacity building required - Knowledge of recovery principles, prevention theory, and research preferred - Experience in grant writing and budgeting preferred - Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage projects and collaborate across teams and community partners - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), videoconferencing, and online reporting systems - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional documentation and presentations - Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and insurable driving record required - Ability to travel frequently throughout the state and maintain reliable home internet access - Ability to obtain DCFS CANTS Child Abuse Clearance Are you intrigued by this job but don't meet every single requirement? Do you have the skills and dedication to make a positive impact in the community? Join our team at Chestnut Health Systems as a part-time Recovery Coach at Granite City, IL and help us promote recovery and well-being for our clients. As a Recovery Coach, you'll help individuals and families dealing with mental health and substance use issues by meeting with them, understanding their needs, and connecting them with the right treatment and support services. You'll work with community partners, provide guidance and encouragement, and assist clients in overcoming obstacles to their recovery. Essentially, you'll be a supportive guide, helping people navigate their recovery journey and regain control over their lives. The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $17.00 - $18.00 per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity. Responsibilities - Client Engagement and Support: Meet with clients, explain the project, and enroll them in recovery support services if they agree. Build strong relationships by understanding their strengths, needs, and barriers to treatment. Provide pre-treatment engagement in the client's home as needed. - Community Collaboration: Partner with local organizations like One Hope United and Bethany Social Services to connect clients with behavioral health and primary care treatment services. - Active Linkage and Advocacy: Connect clients to recovery communities and support services, organize sobriety-based activities, provide transportation, and advocate on their behalf to ensure they receive necessary services. - Ongoing Monitoring and Education: Help clients overcome barriers to recovery through continuous support, monitoring, and appropriate recovery education. Encourage clients to take control of their recovery using appropriate recovery language and tools. - Service Coordination: Work with caseworkers, treatment teams, and community partners to ensure continuous and coordinated care for clients. - Documentation and Compliance: Complete all required documentation and data entry promptly, adhering to program and agency policies. Ensure confidentiality of all client and organizational information. - Team Participation and Professional Development: Attend all assigned meetings and trainings. Support team members and engage in professional development to achieve or maintain relevant certifications. - Customer Service Excellence: Promote a culture of customer service excellence within the organization. Qualifications - Must be at least 21 years of age. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Preferred experience in recovery and/or engagement in a recovery network, mental health, substance use, or other social/human services but not required. - Valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and must be insurable. - Basic computer skills, including videoconferencing, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and electronic medical records (EMR). Title: Recovery Support Specialist PT Location: Granite City United States Type: Regular Part-Time Category: Mental Health Job Description: Overview The Recovery Support Specialist (Housing) plays a vital role in supporting individuals living in Chestnut's mental health housing programs as they work toward stability, independence, and self-directed recovery. This position provides hands-on, recovery-oriented services in a residential setting while modeling hope, empowerment, and trauma-informed care. This part-time position will work Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 7:00am to 3:30pm and be based in Granite City, IL. This role works closely with consumers, housing staff, and community partners to promote wellness, safety, and engagement in services. Responsibilities - Model, practice, and promote a recovery-oriented approach grounded in trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, wellness, and connectedness - Support consumers in developing personal responsibility, self-advocacy, and confidence through professional, compassionate interactions - Provide consumer-driven services identified in treatment, recovery, and safety plans while maintaining at least 65% productivity of available time - Teach and reinforce recovery tools, including Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP), and utilize recovery-focused language in all documentation - Assist consumers with referrals, linkage, and advocacy to community resources, natural supports, internal programs, and discharge placements that promote independence - Promote positive relationships within Chestnut and with community partners, including substance use providers, hospitals, medical staff, and Medicaid partners - Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with program and funder requirements, including: - Progress notes and required data entry (80% within 48 hours of service delivery) - Medication Administration Records completed in real time - Thorough and timely shift reports - Participate in meetings, consumer staffings, program development activities, and required supervision and trainings - Answer incoming calls, manage messages and mail, and monitor video surveillance equipment when applicable - Collaborate with coworkers, supervisors, facility staff, and tenants to maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment - Maintain confidentiality and protect all consumer and organizational information Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of five years of personal lived recovery experience. - Alternatively, a bachelor's degree with personal lived recovery experience. - Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) in good standing with the State of Illinois, if applicable. - Basic computer skills, including MS Word and experience with an electronic medical record (EMR). - Valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and insurability. - Ability to work at multiple housing sites and cover assignments at other locations in advance or in response to urgent staffing needs.
