Role Description CEG Solutions is hiring an Energy Engineering Discipline Lead to provide senior technical leadership for our energy engineering practice. This role will impact how CEG identifies, develops, and delivers energy conservation measures (ECMs) across our portfolio of projects. This is a leadership role for an engineer who combines deep expertise in energy modeling and analysis with the drive to build a best-in-class energy analysis discipline. This role will improve methodology, raise quality, mentor engineers, and advance how the team applies technology and AI in its analytical workflows. You'll be the technical anchor for our energy engineering team: - Providing QA/QC oversight on models and savings calculations. - Refining analytical methodologies. - Developing new modeling techniques. - Overseeing how we integrate AI tools and automation into the practice. MEP design experience is a strong plus — it strengthens the ability to ensure that the measures we develop are not only well-modeled but also constructible and well-coordinated with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Qualifications - B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field (M.S. preferred). - 10+ years of progressive experience in building energy systems, energy modeling, and ECM savings calculations. - Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in any U.S. state required; LEED AP or CEM certification a plus. - Deep expertise in energy modeling tools and/or simulation platforms. - Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring engineering teams. - MEP design experience preferred — particularly mechanical systems design for commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities. - Experience with energy performance contracting (ESPC), guaranteed savings projects, or design-build delivery preferred. - A genuine interest in applying AI tools and automation to engineering workflows. - Drug and background screening required. Requirements - Serve as the primary technical authority on energy modeling, ECM calculations, and energy analysis across the firm's project portfolio. - Refine the standards, methodologies, and tools used by the energy engineering team. - Lead the development and continuous improvement of energy modeling approaches, tools, and calculation methodologies. - Identify gaps in current modeling practice and create new methods, spreadsheets, simulation approaches, or analytical frameworks to close them. - Oversee the integration of AI tools, automation, and technology-enabled workflows into the energy engineering practice. - Provide direct mentorship and technical guidance to energy engineers at all experience levels. - Help design and maintain training resources and a standard playbook for new engineers. - Develop and implement standardized procedures governing the full modeling lifecycle. - Provide QA/QC oversight across active projects. Benefits - Strategic influence: A direct voice in shaping the energy engineering discipline and CEG's long-term technical direction. - Authority to elevate the practice: Real ownership over modeling methodology, QA/QC, training, and team growth. - Interesting, critical work: Hands-on engagement with high-complexity, mission-critical facilities. - A leadership path: Room to grow as the energy engineering discipline and business needs and opportunities grow. - AI-enabled innovation: A platform to oversee the practical application of AI and automation in engineering workflows. Role Description CEG Solutions is hiring a Regional Practice Leader to grow our direct-to-market consulting engineering practice across the Denver and Mountain West region. This is a seller-doer role for a licensed engineer who is energized by the full arc of the client relationship — finding new opportunities, winning the work, leading delivery, and growing it into something larger over time. You'll be a principal face of CEG's consulting engineering division in the region: - Opening doors with new clients. - Shaping technical scopes and proposals. - Leading high-quality engineering work that includes MEP design, energy and plant master planning, capital planning, energy efficiency studies and audits, and monitoring-based commissioning and retro-commissioning. Backed by CEG's Denver- and Boulder-based engineering team, you'll have the talent and infrastructure to deliver — and the mandate to expand both the client base and the team itself as the practice grows. What You'll Do - Drive Business Development and Market Growth - Identify, pursue, and win new consulting engineering opportunities across the Denver and Mountain West region. - Build and nurture a network of clients, partners, and industry contacts that generates a steady pipeline of work. - Develop proposals, scopes, and pricing that position CEG to win — and that set projects up for successful delivery. - Represent CEG at industry events, client meetings, and in the regional engineering community. - Target clients and markets strategically — pursuing consulting opportunities that build a healthy book of business. - Lead Project Delivery - Serve as the technical and project lead on the work you bring in — owning scope, schedule, budget, and quality. - Direct the engineering effort, leveraging CEG's Denver- and Boulder-based team. - Apply engineering judgment and consulting experience to solve client problems. - Maintain hands-on involvement in technical decisions. - Manage and Grow Client Relationships - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the life of each engagement. - Build trust through responsiveness, technical credibility, and clear communication. - Identify follow-on opportunities within existing client accounts. - Continuously prospect for new clients in the region. - Recognize when a client's needs align with CEG's broader capabilities. - Build and Develop the Team - Partner with leadership to identify hiring needs and recruit additional engineering talent. - Mentor and develop engineers on the team. - Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture. - Help shape the long-term vision and capabilities of CEG's consulting engineering practice. - Strengthen the Practice - Hold P&L responsibility for the regional consulting engineering practice. - Contribute to the development of standards, tools, and processes. - Share insights from the market to inform the firm's strategy. - Champion CEG's value proposition in the Mountain West. Qualifications - B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline (M.S. a plus). - Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required. - 10+ years of progressive experience in consulting engineering. - Demonstrated success winning work and managing client relationships. - Strong technical foundation in building systems, energy, or related engineering disciplines. - Established network and presence in the Denver and Mountain West market strongly preferred. - Experience leading project teams and mentoring engineers. - Excellent communication, business development, and client management skills. - A genuine interest in applying AI tools and modern workflows to engineering practice. - Drug and background screening required. Location, Travel & Compensation - Based in the Denver / Boulder, Colorado area. - Travel: regional travel for client meetings, site visits, and business development. - Salary range: $145,000 to $170,000 annually, commensurate with experience. - Annual discretionary bonus program based on performance and company success. - Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement plans, and professional development support.
