Full Stack Software Engineer

Role Description We are seeking a versatile Full Stack Software Engineer to join our engineering team. Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, this is a hands-on role requiring comfort and confidence in working across the entire stack, with a particular emphasis on user-facing frontend experiences. - Build delightful, performant, and accessible user experiences for our consumer-facing applications across Web and Mobile using React and React Native. - Contribute across the stack, owning features end-to-end from frontend implementation through backend integration and experimentation. - Develop and maintain robust REST APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI. - Design and manage databases, including relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB or MongoDB. - Write well-tested, maintainable code across frontend, backend, and integration layers. - Participate in technical discussions around system design, performance tradeoffs, and long-term maintainability. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design) to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality applications. - Contribute to technical decision-making regarding architecture, libraries, and tools to optimize performance and developer experience. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. - 3 to 6 years of professional software engineering experience in building production systems across both frontend and backend. - Strong proficiency in Python; hands-on experience with the FastAPI REST framework & Database ORM’s. - Highly proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript; hands-on experience building modern frontend applications with React. - Must have a strong grasp of HTML5 and CSS3. - Experience working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB). - Proficiency in writing and executing unit tests using frameworks like pytest, React Testing Library, or similar tools. - Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini) into production applications. - Strong familiarity with AWS services for cloud-native application development. Requirements - An eye for design details and a passion for User Experience (UX); ability to bridge the gap between design mockups and technical implementation. - Hands-on knowledge of DevOps tools, specifically Terraform and Docker, for managing containerized environments. - Familiarity with the "AI Stack" beyond APIs—such as vector databases (Pinecone, pgvector), RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures, or local model inference (Ollama). - Experience in automated testing at multiple levels (unit, integration, end-to-end). - Experience with Hardware-Software integrations using services like AWS IoT. - Experience in Healthcare & SaMD applications within a regulated healthcare environment. Physical Demands - Ability to sit or stand at a desk for prolonged periods of time. - Ability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other related equipment. - Close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus are required to read code, analyze interfaces and visually identify defects.
Therapy Access Intake Specialist – Contractor

Role Description Cala Health is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our growing team. This individual will act as a professional representative of our organization. We are seeking a positive, highly motivated specialist to join our team remotely. In this position, employees will be responsible for reviewing documentation for medical necessity and submission of said documentation. This is a remote role that will report to the Director, Revenue Cycle Management. The compensation range for this role is market driven, with a salary range of $65,000 - $105,000. Additionally, we offer a robust benefits package. This offering is aligned with our overall compensation philosophy. A Day in the Life - Responsible for answering phone calls and emails in a timely manner. - Answer all questions from any client, insurances, or patient professionally and knowledgeably. - Note all communications expediently. - Review patient documentation for accuracy and qualification. - Approve and create sales orders for shipments. - Review Sales Orders for accuracy. - Manage shipments by sending sales orders to ship when ready for delivery. - Review Sales orders for accuracy after shipment is completed. - Create claim and/or invoice by confirming sales order. - Bill Claims and/or invoices by electronic, paper, or charging credit card. - Monitor Patient billing module. Update information as needed. - Communicate and work with clients and cross-functional departments to identify potential risks and solutions for performance improvement. - Review Sales order reports. Complete reports as needed by Manager. - Support new and emerging business models. - Support company goals, objectives, and policies and procedures. - Perform any other duties, as assigned, when necessary for productivity of the Claims Department. Qualifications - Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Business or Finance preferred; high school or GED equivalent required. - 3+ years of DME accounts receivable billing experience required (Medicare desired). - Brightree and Salesforce Software knowledge strongly preferred. - Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft and Google products required. - Self-starter who takes initiative to overcome challenges and problem solve. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Must be detail oriented and able to plan, organize and complete tasks in a timely manner. - Ability to multi-task and work independently. Insurance Verification and Appeals Specialist

Role Overview Reporting to the Company’s CFO, the Controller position is a hands-on role, responsible for managing the accounting function, including full-cycle month-end close, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, revenue, COGS, inventory, audit and tax compliance. The Controller will be responsible for managing the general accounting for the organization, assisting with the creation of financial statements and management reporting, managing the organization's cash, and assisting with the creation of departmental budgets and forecasts. Experience with developing and establishing policies and procedures within a high growth organization is highly preferred. The position location is ideally located in the San Francisco Bay Area with preference given to candidates close to San Mateo/Peninsula. Candidates in other locations are welcome to apply. Specific Responsibilities Manage all general accounting functions which includes performing month-end close process, eliminations & consolidations, preparing and booking journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis all in compliance with GAAP. Responsible for AP/AR, Payroll, GL, Cash, Tax and financial reporting functions, managing internal staff and consultants to streamline processes. Partner with CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives. Oversee financial reporting to executive leadership, the board of directors and external stakeholders, providing clear insights into financial performance and business trends Develop and maintain policies to ensure accurate accounting, financial reporting and reliable internal controls; ensure financial integrity through strong controls. Manage annual accounting audits, tax audits, sales & use tax submissions and ad-hoc financial requests and reporting.
