Role Description Shawmut is growing its Mission Critical business unit and seeking an experienced Project Manager – Mission Critical to lead large‑scale, technically complex data center projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires regular travel and can be based anywhere within the United States, due to the national footprint of our mission‑critical portfolio. The Project Manager oversees all aspects of project delivery, including budget, scheduling, quality, safety, documentation, and stakeholder coordination, while driving predictable outcomes on fast‑paced hyperscale and colocation environments. - Manage mission‑critical construction projects valued between $25M and $100M from preconstruction through completion. - Maintain responsibility for overall project performance, including schedule, budget, safety, and quality. - Lead key project meetings, including OAC, progress meetings, and monthly project reviews. - Participate in project budgeting and develop monthly cost and margin forecasts. - Monitor project costs, identify variances, and proactively address financial risks. - Manage owner and subcontractor pay applications and administer change management processes. - Communicate clearly and consistently with owners, subcontractors, design teams, vendors, and field leadership. - Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and material samples to ensure compliance. - Build and maintain strong relationships across diverse teams and organizational levels. - Provide clear direction, decisive problem‑solving, and consistent communication across large project teams. - Mentor and manage Assistant Project Managers to support their development. - Partner closely with the Superintendent to align field and project management priorities. Qualifications - Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in construction. - At least 3+ years managing hyperscale and/or colocation data center projects. - Proven track record delivering complex projects between $25M and $100M. - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered. - Strong understanding of construction phases, MEP systems, project sequencing, and mission‑critical requirements. - Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills. - Ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and make effective decisions in fast‑paced environments. Requirements - Must be willing and able to travel regularly to project sites across the United States. - Ability to temporarily relocate to project sites when project needs require. - Comfortable working in a national delivery model with multi‑region project teams. Role Description Shawmut is expanding its Mission Critical business unit and seeking a highly skilled Superintendent – Mission Critical to lead field operations on large scale, technically complex data center projects. This role requires significant travel and can be based anywhere in the United States, as project work spans multiple regions and may require long term on site presence. The Superintendent provides on site leadership for fast track construction, driving safety, quality, schedule performance, and robust trade coordination on mission critical builds. - Lead daily field operations on mission‑critical data center projects valued between $25M and $100M. - Supervise subcontractors, craft labor, and trade partners to ensure safe, high‑quality execution. - Drive fast‑track project delivery while maintaining strict safety, quality, and schedule standards. - Apply strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems within mission‑critical facilities. - Coordinate daily work activities with master schedules, short‑interval look‑aheads, and logistics plans. - Manage site logistics, including material deliveries and OFCI/CFCI vendor integration. - Develop and maintain detailed field schedules to ensure proper sequencing of work. - Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, codes, and contract requirements. - Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, safety logs, and quality records. - Mentor and manage Assistant Superintendents to support their development and performance. - Collaborate effectively with Project Managers, design teams, inspectors, vendors, and field staff. - Build strong relationships across diverse teams while reinforcing accountability and results. Qualifications - 7+ years as a Superintendent in commercial, industrial, or mission‑critical construction. - Minimum 3+ years leading hyperscale and/or colocation data center projects. - Proven success executing highly technical, fast‑track industrial projects. - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered. - Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in mission‑critical environments. - Ability to lead and coordinate multiple trade partners effectively. - Excellent planning, scheduling, communication, and team‑leadership skills. Role Description Shawmut is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director – Field Operations, Mission Critical to join our senior leadership team. This role provides executive-level oversight of field operations for large-scale, MEP-intensive, fast-track data center projects across the United States. As a key leader in our Mission Critical group, you will: - Drive mission-critical business goals, execution standards, and safety culture across field operations. - Partner closely with estimating, preconstruction, planning, safety, quality, and commissioning teams to support seamless project delivery. - Support go/no-go decisions, pursuit strategy, staffing plans, and alignment across regions and programs. - Lead recruiting, development, and retention of mission-critical field leadership. - Ensure teams possess strong technical capability in MEP systems, redundancy, commissioning, and fast-track execution. - Conduct performance coaching and succession planning to build strong organizational depth. - Engage directly with clients at the executive level to support presentations, reviews, and satisfaction efforts. - Participate in deal reviews focused on schedule feasibility, constructability, logistics, phasing, and risk mitigation. - Lead recovery actions on underperforming projects to protect schedule, financial outcomes, and client relationships. - Establish and maintain standards for mission-critical field operations, staffing, safety, sequencing, and quality. - Review and validate project schedules to ensure realistic delivery strategies in fast-track environments. - Oversee constructability, commissioning readiness, inspections, and turnover quality across all active projects. - Implement standardized field operations processes, systems, and financial controls. - Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, designers, contractors, and vendors. - Represent Shawmut at key mission-critical and data center industry events to strengthen market presence. Qualifications - 15+ years of construction experience with significant leadership responsibility on mission-critical or data center projects. - Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex, MEP-driven project teams in fast-track environments. - Strong background in field operations, schedule management, logistics, commissioning readiness, and risk mitigation. - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. - Equivalent industry experience considered. - Deep knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, redundancy strategies, commissioning integration, and mission-critical execution. - Proven ability to develop, mentor, and retain high-performing field teams. - Strong communication and client-facing skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels. - Ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously and make clear, strategic decisions under pressure.
