Role Description BMI UK&I have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Channel Sales Manager - Building Membranes to join our team. Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, this role is home based but will require travel around Ireland. This is a progressive, data-driven role where you'll be responsible for driving specific business performance in target markets by effectively utilising all available channels and levers. As a Channel Sales Manager for the Building Membranes Market in Ireland, you will be crucial in expanding our presence and achieving sales targets. Your main responsibilities will include: - Conducting a minimum of 16 merchant visits per week, primarily focusing on A-C customer segments to maximise sales opportunities and strengthen relationships. - Proactively identifying and pursuing new avenues for growth through a proactive approach to business development within the building membrane sector. - Effectively managing forecasts and demand planning to ensure optimal stock levels and align with market needs. - Ensuring full alignment with portfolio strategies and target markets to drive the successful adoption and sales of our building membranes products. - Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all sales and customer activity within our C4C system. Qualifications - In-depth Product Understanding: Comprehensive knowledge of building membranes, specifically ground gas barriers (e.g., radon, methane, CO2), damp proof courses (DPC), and damp proof membranes (DPMs). - Building Regulations & Standards (Irish Market): Knowledge and understanding of Irish Building Regulations and NSAI Agrément certification, especially as they relate to ground gas protection. - Problem-Solving (Technical): Ability to understand and address technical queries from merchants, contractors, and specifiers. - Channel Sales Strategy (Merchants): Expertise in developing and executing sales strategies specifically for building material merchants. - Pricing & Margin Management: Skill in negotiating pricing with merchants to ensure profitability. - Forecasting & Demand Planning: Accurate forecasting of building membranes product demand. - New Business Development (Building Membranes): Proactive identification and pursuit of new merchant accounts. - Merchant Relationship Building: Cultivating strong, trust-based relationships with merchant branch managers. - Contractor/Installer Engagement: Understanding the needs of building membranes contractors and installers. - Sales Performance Analysis: Using C4C data to analyse building membranes sales performance. - CRM Proficiency (C4C): Efficient and accurate use of C4C for tracking all merchant visits. Requirements - Market Insight (Building Membranes & Radon): Understanding of the Irish building membranes market dynamics. - Strategic Channel Development: Ability to identify and develop strategic opportunities within the merchant channel. - Results-Driven with Market Focus: Strong drive to achieve and exceed sales targets. - Influencing & Persuasion: Capability to influence merchant purchasing decisions. - Communication & Training: Ability to effectively communicate product features and benefits. - Planning & Organisation: Excellent ability to plan and execute a demanding weekly visit schedule. - Initiative & Proactivity: Taking a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges. Role Summary The purpose of this role is to be a solution-oriented driver, focused on integrating BMI's comprehensive system offerings to deliver significant value to our clients. A key objective is to maximise the utilisation and benefits of our SpecMaster systems and guarantees. As the Project Specification Manager - Flat, your key responsibilities will be: - Customer Engagement: Conduct a minimum of 12 customer visits per week to build relationships, understand needs, and identify opportunities. - Specification-Driven Sales: Focus on promoting and selling BMI's full system offerings, emphasising their value and benefits within project specifications. - Guarantee & Site Support: Provide expert support related to specification guarantees, including conducting site visits as needed to ensure proper implementation. - Sales Forecasting & Demand Planning: Develop and manage accurate sales forecasts and demand plans to ensure optimal product availability and resource allocation. - Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share and drive revenue growth. - Strategic Alignment: Ensure all sales activities are fully aligned with overall portfolio strategies and target market objectives. - CRM Management: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all customer interactions, activities, and opportunities within the C4C system. Experience engaging with specifiers, architects, and main contractors. - Business Development: Proven ability to proactively identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities, driving sales growth. - Sales Forecasting & Planning: Proficiency in developing accurate sales forecasts and contributing to demand management planning. - CRM Proficiency (SAP C4C): Highly skilled in maintaining accurate and comprehensive activity, opportunity, and client data within the C4C system. - Client Relationship Management: Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients. - Presentation & Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive verbal and written communication skills for client interactions, presentations, and internal reporting. - Problem-Solving: Aptitude for addressing client challenges, technical queries related to specifications or site conditions, and offering effective solutions. - Time Management & Organisation: Exceptional ability to plan and execute a high volume of client visits (12 per week), manage a sales pipeline, and handle administrative tasks efficiently.
