Director, Brand Strategy

Role Description As a Director, Brand Strategy, you will contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to build and grow brands of our healthcare clients and on new business opportunities. This role is ideal for individuals with a blend of right-brained curiosity and creativity and left-brained analytic skills. Your ability to think in these ways will be essential in interpreting market trends, competitor strategies, identifying brand opportunities, and helping to shape compelling brand strategies. People in this role will have a passion for branding, strong synthesis, verbal, and visual skills, and the ability to work collaboratively alongside team members from all different disciplines. You will be a primary contact with internal teams during the development of strategic/communications-oriented work and partner with clients. What You’ll Be Doing - Developing in-depth market, customer and competitive analyses - Uncover customer insights - Identifying key questions, issues/opportunities and insight areas - Assist in developing POVs on brand and category dynamics - Serve as the internal team “expert” for planning and developing strategy and communications - Play a key role in the planning and execution of strategic client engagements - Growing involvement and leadership in projects such as building brand positioning and crafting creative briefs that clearly articulate strategy and inspire creative teams - Assist on new business pitches and participate in client presentations - Mentoring or managing team members Qualifications - A strategic thinker with the ability to integrate data, insights, and creativity into clear direction - Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights - An effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with experience presenting to internal teams and clients - Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work across disciplines and levels - Proactive and adaptable, with a problem-solving mindset and a willingness to take on new challenges - Demonstrates sound judgment and a growing ability to guide strategic decision-making Requirements - 5-7+ years of experience in brand strategy and planning within an advertising agency environment, with 2+ years working in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences category - Experience developing brand positioning, strategic frameworks, and insight-driven communications - Strong understanding of market research, competitive analysis, and customer insight development - Proven ability to contribute to client engagements and new business initiatives - Demonstrated ability to mentor or manage junior team members Benefits - At BGBx, we combine scientific rigor with strategic and creative thinking to deliver meaningful impact for our clients and their brands. - We value curiosity, collaboration, and commitment to high-quality work. - You’ll be part of a team that is driven to solve complex challenges, build strong partnerships, and continuously elevate the role of strategy in healthcare communications. Salary Range $140,000 - $175,000 USD BGBx is headquartered in New York City, and the salary range listed reflects the expected base compensation for this role in the New York City metropolitan area. This position may be performed remotely within the United States. For candidates located outside the New York City area, compensation will be adjusted to reflect the applicable market for the employee’s primary work location. Role Description The VP, Associate Creative Director, Copy is a senior creative leader responsible for helping drive agency growth through new business development, strategic storytelling, and high-impact pitch leadership. This individual serves as a key creative partner in identifying, shaping, and winning new opportunities by developing compelling narratives, differentiated agency positioning, and persuasive presentations that showcase BGB's strategic and creative capabilities. Success in this role requires the ability to wear multiple hats and orchestrate multiple workstreams within each pitch opportunity. Beyond developing compelling narratives and creative concepts, this individual will help drive the end-to-end pitch process, partnering across departments to: - Brief teams - Manage timelines - Facilitate creative reviews - Build stakeholder alignment - Ensure seamless execution As a highly visible representative of the agency, this role requires exceptional presentation skills and the ability to distill complex scientific and business information into clear, engaging, and actionable stories. Requirements - 8+ years of experience in healthcare communications, pharmaceutical advertising, or a related field. - Demonstrated success leading or contributing significantly to new business pitches, agency growth initiatives, and client presentations. - Experience developing strategic narratives and creative concepts for complex healthcare brands and organizations. - Proven ability to partner effectively with Strategy, Medical, Account, and Executive Leadership teams. - Experience supporting product launches, including high-science and specialty products, preferred. - Global experience a plus.
