Role Description Base is planning to bring a million developers and a billion users onchain. We need your help to make that happen. We are looking for a high-caliber Senior Product Manager to lead the Trading Growth strategy for the Base App. You will be responsible for helping define how millions of users trade onchain while simultaneously building the "engine" that brings them in, keeps them engaged, and brings them back. You will operate horizontally across Core Product (Trading, Search & Discovery), Foundations, and Onramps/Payments/Onboarding. While you will help to shape the core trading flows to drive revenue, your primary mission is to increase monthly active transacting users and trading market share by driving user acquisition, engagement, and retention. What You’ll Be Doing - Own the Growth Engine: Lead the strategy and execution for acquisition and retention loops, including referral/affiliate programs, win-back flows, and gamification mechanics (e.g., mystery boxes and trading competitions). - Optimize Core Trading: Own end-to-end development for trading experiences, ensuring intuitive and efficient spot and derivative trading flows in the onchain ecosystem. - Master the Engagement Loop: Co-own high-intent systems like Watchlists and Price Alerts with the Trading team, using them as hooks to drive users back into the app via a sophisticated, ML-driven push notification and CRM strategy. - Experiment at Scale: Drive a rigorous data-driven culture by running A/B tests on onboarding funnels, abandonment flows, and notification delivery to continuously improve conversion and execution quality. - Build Growth Infrastructure: Oversee the "Growth Platform," including the ML/policy layer for intelligent notifications, attribution tracking for paid marketing, and the Activity Tab UX. - Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Data Science to balance "0-to-1" trading primitives with "1-to-N" growth optimizations. Partner with Legal, Growth, and Finance to ensure all growth incentives and trading features meet global compliance and liquidity standards. Qualifications - 7+ years of Product Management experience, specifically within consumer-facing fintech, exchange, or onchain trading environments. - Growth Mastery: Proven track record of scaling products via lifecycle marketing, referral loops, and retention mechanics. You know how to move the needle on MATU and trading activity. - Trading Sophistication: Deep understanding of market structure, order types, execution quality, and liquidity. You can speak the language of both a growth hacker and a high-frequency trader. - Analytical Rigor: Deep experience with data-driven development—defining North Star metrics, navigating attribution complexity, and running high-velocity experiments. - Entrepreneurial Execution: The ability to thrive in high-ambiguity environments, making tough trade-offs to ship high-quality products on time. - AI Fluency: Demonstrated ability to integrate generative AI tools into your daily workflow to increase efficiency and deliver business-ready outputs. Nice to Haves - Direct experience contributing to or collaborating with onchain protocols and decentralized communities. - Experience in brokerage or market-making environments (clearing, settlement, or microstructure). Pay Transparency Notice Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position can range as detailed below. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)). - Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus): $207,485 - $244,100 USD. Role Description We are seeking an exceptional attorney to join our Product Legal team, dedicated to supporting the Coinbase incubated Base Layer 2 blockchain. In this pivotal role, you will navigate complex, first-of-a-kind blockchain and Base related product initiatives. Your responsibilities will extend across the Base L2 ecosystem, from operational support to ensuring seamless integration and compliance of Coinbase integrated products and base-native products. - Help build the legal foundation to support Base’s onchain mission and strategy. - Oversee legal processes related to funding and supporting innovative projects within the Base ecosystem. - Facilitate the integration of both Coinbase and third party services and products in the Base ecosystem, ensuring adherence to legal standards and regulatory expectations. - Conduct due diligence, draft compliance policies, and provide guidance on risk management related to Base product integration. - Be a business partner, not just an attorney. - Provide full product life-cycle counseling. - Look around corners and creatively solve problems for the business as they plan, build, and execute on their product roadmap. - Identify issues that may fall outside your expertise, driving resolution by partnering with other members of the Coinbase legal team and outside counsel. - Work cross-departmentally with stakeholders such as Compliance, Communications, Finance, Tax, Security, Enterprise Risk Management, Engineering, Data, Analytics, Corporate Development, and members of Coinbase’s leadership team. - Respond promptly to a wide range of complex legal requests and coordinate closely with Legal department colleagues. - Operate in a fast-paced, demanding environment and pivot quickly to meet leadership's needs. - Scale the advice you provide to grow efficiently with the business. Qualifications - Currently licensed in a U.S. state. J.D. or equivalent, minimum of 5 years of legal experience. - Strong, substantive practice and practical experience working in crypto / web3 / defi / protocols / blockchain. - Financial technology experience preferred but not required. - Experience counseling product teams in launching consumer or developer-facing technology products and services. - Strong interest or experience in digital currency, blockchain technology, and innovative constructs pioneered by decentralized finance. - Understanding of the legal and regulatory considerations affecting crypto protocols and onchain products. - Experience with build-outs to support Anti Money Laundering (AML)/Know-your-customer (KYC) requirements. - Proven problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Excellent legal judgment with analytic rigor and a balance of realizable creativity and pragmatism. - Comfortable with risk-adjusted thinking and interpretive flexibility. - Team-oriented and collaborative, enabling clients to successfully build and launch crypto products at Coinbase.
