Role Description We’re looking for a senior, hands-on developer to design, build, and support applications that power core healthcare workflows and internal tools. This is a high-ownership role on a small, fast-moving team. You’ll work closely with product, clinical, and engineering stakeholders to take ideas from concept to production. The ideal candidate is a technically strong leader who is pragmatic, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to independently drive initiatives from concept through production support. This role partners with the Director of Technology Delivery & Innovation, business stakeholders, IT Operations, Data Management, and external vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. The role operates within a hybrid on-prem and cloud environment, ensuring applications integrate with enterprise ELT pipelines and align with established data architecture standards that support trusted analytics, automation, and AI-enabled decision-making. Qualifications - Proven ability to deliver production-grade software in a professional environment (typically 5+ years) - Strong experience building backend or full-stack applications - Comfortable working in modern web stacks (ideally TypeScript/Node.js, Postgres, REST APIs) - Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS) - Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Tabnine, Claude Code) - Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving systems - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate with partial or ambiguous requirements - Effective communication and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders Requirements - Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend and full-stack applications supporting healthcare and business workflows, with equal emphasis on ongoing reliability and maintenance as on speed of delivery - Translate loosely defined requirements into clear technical approaches and shipped features - Contribute across the application lifecycle from design through production support in a collaborative, PR-driven environment - Participate in architecture and design discussions with a focus on simplicity, scalability, and maintainability - Provide technical leadership in cross-functional discussions and architecture decisions, serving as a trusted resource for engineering, product, and clinical stakeholders - Participate in Agile development practices, CI/CD pipelines, version control, and change management processes to ensure structured, repeatable delivery - Identify opportunities to automate workflows and reduce operational overhead - Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, Codex) to accelerate development, debugging, and iteration - Build systems that support intelligent workflows, data-driven features, and internal tooling - Design and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and internal systems - Build and support APIs, background jobs, and data pipelines that power core product functionality - Collaborate with data and operations teams to ensure systems align with analytics and reporting needs - Work with healthcare-related integrations where applicable (e.g., eligibility, messaging, EHR interfaces) - Adhere to and help enforce data governance standards, ensuring data integrity, access controls, and compliance across all application and integration touchpoints - Partner with IT Operations and Data Management teams to align application outputs with ELT pipelines, Medallion architecture standards (Bronze, Silver, Gold), and analytics needs - Support data interfaces including imports, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance to ensure consistent, trusted data flows - Write and review code with an emphasis on clarity, correctness, long-term maintainability, and ongoing system health - Debug and resolve issues across application, integration, and data layers - Contribute to a stable and reliable production environment - Develop, review, and validate test cases to ensure high-quality releases with minimal production disruption - Maintain clear technical and operational documentation to support long-term maintainability, onboarding, and institutional knowledge retention Benefits - Small team, high ownership, minimal bureaucracy - PR-based workflow with collaborative code review and shared responsibility for releases - Fast iteration cycles with a focus on shipping and learning - Pragmatic decision-making balanced with structured process where it drives quality and repeatability - Strong adoption of AI tools to improve speed and output Work Environment - Primarily remote with close collaboration across engineering, product, and clinical teams - Eastern Time Zone alignment preferred (Atlanta-based candidates a plus) - Fast-paced, high-accountability environment with significant ownership and impact
