• Sells life insurance products to new or existing customers via various customer contact channels • Estimates and quotes policy premiums complying with underwriting guidelines • Serves as additional sales support to existing channels to assist clients with recommending specific insurance solutions • Answers inbound conservation calls and makes proactive outbound calls to help conserve life policies • Works with policy holders and independent sales agents to identify and act on opportunities to conserve business • Reviews existing coverage and advises customers regarding policy options • Identifies gaps in coverage and advises the customer of their risks; recommends additional coverage as needed, and suggests options • Makes appropriate recommendations on policy coverage and options, closes sales, and works with life operations to process applications or changes to policies

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims by contacting the appropriate parties including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, public personnel, etc. • Checks for prior claims and recognizes environmental exposures • Participates in High Damage Reviews (HDR) to address coverage issues and exposure • Handles claims on a good faith basis • Conducts on-site inspections when needed, evaluates damages and handles claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, public adjusters • Responds to customer inquiries, makes appropriate decisions, and closes file as needed • Interprets and determines policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and applies to all parties for assigned losses • Proactively provides all parties with claim process and status as appropriate; answers questions or redirects to other areas • Serves as a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters

• conduct legal research and draft coverage opinions on all lines of business • review knowledge articles and standard operating procedures for verification of compliance with state laws and regulations • answer claims related questions from staff and management • assist with Department of Insurance complaint responses • develop uniform strategies within states on certain recurring subjects • monitor outside counsel on EUOs • draft Reservation of Rights and coverage disclaimer letters • participate in Claims roundtables as a legal expert

• Be the primary field contact for assigned agency partners • Help partners grow profitably and sustainably • Recruit and appoint new agency partners • Use market and territory analytics to identify opportunities • Support new appointments and transitions • Identify competitive opportunities and develop strategies to win business • Create and maintain business plans for assigned agencies • Establish structured agency engagement

• Handle litigation involving either the corporation and/or its insured within established corporate guidelines and the applicable code of professional responsibility • Analyze file as litigation progresses. Evaluate cases and seek settlement as necessary • Oversee outside counsel throughout litigation of complex claims • Review motions and briefs during course of litigation and provide necessary feedback • Conduct legal research as necessary • Observe court hearing and trials as necessary • Stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyzes how statutes and court decisions affect the interpretation and enforceability of the various policy provisions • Supervise litigation with a higher complexity across multiple lines of business

• Manage moderately complex civil litigation for American Family and our insureds, following established guidelines and the highest ethical standards • Analyze cases, strategize for optimal outcomes, and pursue settlements when appropriate • Lead discovery, draft pleadings and briefs, and conduct research to support your litigation strategy • Represent clients in trials, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences • Advocate for our clients in state and federal courts, administrative tribunals, and regulatory hearings • Stay ahead of legal trends and ensure our policies remain strong and enforceable

• Handle First Party Property litigation involving either the corporation and/or its insured within established corporate guidelines and the applicable code of professional responsibility. • Handle First Party Property files and issues of a more complex nature with higher levels of dollar exposure and requiring less oversight. • Communicates with client regarding file status and progress. • Analyze files as litigation progresses as well as risk to the company. • Evaluates cases and seeks settlement as necessary. • Draft all necessary pleadings, papers and briefs to advance litigation activities at the trial or appellate level. • Conduct necessary research in support of drafting activities. • Advocate client position in all forums (state and federal court, alternative dispute resolution, administrative tribunals and regulatory hearings) and circumstances, both formal and informal. • Negotiate effectively in the resolution all issues. • Stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyze how statutes and court decisions affect the interpretation and enforceability of the various policy provisions.
