• Build the user-facing product that makes Alaro’s backend systems and AI agents clear, controllable, and genuinely useful to lawyers. • Design and build the interfaces through which lawyers interact with agents including chat and action suggestions. • Create user interfaces for document review and editing, including diffs and collaboration tools. • Develop scalable UI patterns, state management, and abstractions to support new workflows quickly.
• Define & validate the ICP: Identify the highest-converting customer profiles, buying personas, and entry points; turn learnings into a clear targeting strategy. • Build a repeatable demand + pipeline engine: Stand up outbound, referral, and lightweight inbound loops (lists, sequences, content, community, partnerships/events where relevant) to generate qualified conversations. • Run discovery & qualification: Lead intro/discovery, diagnose pain with credibility, and continuously iterate messaging, narrative, and qualification based on what works in-market (including creating lightweight assets like one-pagers/case studies as you learn). • Own early commercial cycles: Drive a simple, high-tempo deal process (mutual action plans, stakeholders, objections, pricing), initially with the Founder as needed, and increasingly owning closes end-to-end. • Codify the playbook & cadence: Implement “just enough” CRM/process, pipeline hygiene, and lightweight forecasting; document ICP, positioning, messaging, content angles, stages, scripts, and objection handling. • Lay the foundations to scale the team: Once the motion is working, help define the next GTM hires (e.g., partnerships, marketing, sales) and support onboarding/ramp into the playbook.
• You will build the backend systems that make Alaro’s product reliable, extensible, and safe to use in real legal work. • These systems power everything lawyers see and trust: documents, matters, permissions, agent actions, and the workflows that tie them together. • At a high level, we are building a Cursor-like environment for legal work, where lawyers collaborate with agents that can search, reason, and act on documents, while remaining auditable, reversible, and correct. • This is a product-first backend engineering role. To succeed, you’ll need to understand the full product surface and agent behavior, so you can design systems that evolve quickly without breaking under real-world usage. • Core product APIs: design and evolve the APIs that power the lawyer dashboard: matters, documents, chats, permissions, and email integration, so legal work stays coherent across tools, collaborators, and time. • Data models and pipelines: define and maintain data structures that support evolving product and agent workflows, including document state, provenance, permissions, and history. You’ll think carefully about boundaries, migrations, and long-term extensibility. • Agent-facing backend surfaces: build the primitives that let agents safely operate in the system: scoped permissions, state transitions, execution boundaries, and backend objects that unlock new tools and workflows without sacrificing control. • Infrastructure and reliability: own backend systems in production. Contribute to deployments, observability, performance, and cost awareness, while keeping the focus on product reliability rather than infrastructure for its own sake.
• You will build the systems that make Alaro’s product meaningfully useful to lawyers: agents, extraction tools, and controllers that automate repetitive work and reliably execute delegated tasks. • At a high level: we are building a Cursor-like experience for legal documents and legal research - where an agent can search, reason over sources, and propose or apply edits while the lawyer stays in control. • This is an engineering-first applied AI role. To succeed, you’ll need to understand the full product surface (editor, retrieval, dashboard workflows), so you can spot where an agent should be given control - and ship it end-to-end. • Document editing: an agent proposes changes and generates/applies patches to DOCX documents, built for legal reality: multiple collaborators, tracked changes, strict formatting, and high expectations for correctness. • Search & retrieval: when a lawyer asks “search legislation” or “find similar contracts in our database,” the agent decomposes that into targeted queries, retrieves the right sources, and grounds outputs with citations. • Deep research workflows: solving legal problems requires iterative investigation, where agents make progress step by step while keeping their active context focused and manageable. • Training models: fine-tuning models becomes a necessity to optimize the above workflows. As internal data matures, the agent can learn from past interactions to become more intelligent.
• Lead matters across corporate and commercial workstreams with speed, precision, and sound commercial judgment; from first issue-spotting through to execution and close. • Own and expand client relationships over time, building trust, advising as a true partner, and contributing meaningfully to business development and growth. • Interpret terms, identify risk, and give clear, actionable advice, balancing legal rigor with the client’s commercial objectives and timeline. • Collaborate closely with legal colleagues to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes, share learnings, and raise the bar across the team. • Partner with engineering and operations to advance our delivery model and tooling, turning real matter feedback into better systems that compound our impact. • Standardize and codify recurring work into templates, precedents, and playbooks that improve consistency and speed without losing judgment. • Champion internal tooling and workflows so routine work moves faster: freeing lawyers to spend more time on negotiation strategy, critical decisions, and client outcomes.
