Role Description Aescape is looking for a Senior or Staff level Backend Engineer that will work directly with a stellar team to help build core software components that enable the team to quickly build and deploy complex software. You will have the opportunity to proactively solve unique problems and build software and systems that act as force multipliers for our development teams. This is a US-based remote role. What You'll Do - Design and implement scalable, robust APIs in Golang that power our main applications - Enforce best practices in coding, testing, and documentation across the team - Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in both development and production environments - Contribute to architectural discussions and strategic planning for our backend ecosystem - Be diligent, curious, and take complete ownership of your code end-to-end with a clear sense of urgency - Leverage data-driven insights to refine system performance and functionality - Drive data-informed decisions by leveraging analytics to refine system performance - Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to shape innovative features Qualifications - Demonstrated workplace proficiency in at least one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, or similar) - Degree in-or experience equivalent to Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering - Strong understanding of database design and modeling (e.g., PostgreSQL) - Proven track record developing scalable systems and RESTful services - Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes - Understanding of automated testing, deployment processes, and tools - Bias toward action - iteratively creating solutions and deploying to production frequently - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to travel to our NYC office a few times a year Benefits - Join a trailblazing robotics and AI company building the future of recovery - Medical, vision, and dental insurance covered by us - 401k with up to a 4% company match - Flexible paid time off and a generous parental leave policy - Working late? You will have the opportunity to own the full member-facing product surface — from our Flutter-based iOS and Android apps to the web admin tools our operations teams depend on — and shape how we deliver world-class experiences on one of the most technically ambitious platforms in wellness. What You’ll Do As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Aescape, you will: - Build and enhance features for our cross-platform (Dart / Flutter) mobile applications, helping connect our customers with our marketplace. - Collaborate with our robotics and backend engineers to translate hardware telemetry into actionable interfaces (React/Next.js webapps) for our partners and support staff. - Integrate tightly with our Go microservices backend, owning the full request lifecycle from API contract through to user-facing state. - Enforce best practices in code quality, testing, and architecture across the frontend codebase. - Contribute to platform decisions about state management, navigation, component systems, and CI/CD pipelines. - Champion appropriate use of modern coding tools such as AI-assisted development and automated testing to enable the entire engineering team to collaborate on the product. What You’ll Bring - Demonstrated proficiency building production mobile or cross-platform applications, ideally with Flutter/Dart or a comparable declarative UI framework (React Native, SwiftUI, or Jetpack Compose). - Experience with React and TypeScript for web; comfortable building and owning production Next.js or comparable applications with modern patterns (component libraries, form validation, data fetching, SSR). - Solid understanding of REST API integration patterns, authentication flows, and client-side state management. - Experience with mobile release pipelines, CI/CD automation, and multi-environment deployment processes. - Bias toward action — iteratively shipping to production, owning quality from commit to customer. - Ability to work on-site in our NYC office. - Bonus: experience with Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (used in our on-robot interface), C#/Unity (used in our internal visualization tooling), or Go (our backend services).
