Role Description The Allstate Dealer Service (ADS) Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) Mechanical Claims Adjuster is an intermediate-level role responsible for adjudicating mechanical claims, reviewing inspection reports, and handling some ancillary claims for extended warranties. This position requires the use of mechanical knowledge and repair facility experience to adjudicate claims according to warranty contract specifications. The adjuster must be able to make decisions in a fast-paced call center environment. - Compile, review, and provide moderately complex to complex mechanical damage estimates, and manage the settlement process - Research reasonable part costs and labor rates in the local market - Accurately document notes and the repair decision-making process - Adjudicate claims promptly and efficiently, with minimal supervision, using prior mechanical experience to determine coverage per contract terms - Prepare repair estimates through discussions with dealerships or independent repair facilities - Complete additional tasks as directed by management - Communicate with customers, dealerships, and independent repair facilities in a call center environment - Contact customers, agreement holders, inspectors, vendors, and others to secure necessary information as needed - Confirm facts and determine if further follow-up is required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED required - ASE Certifications are a plus - Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive dealerships or independent repair facilities - In lieu of the above, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Requirements - Proficiency with Alldata and/or Mitchell ProDemand software - Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel - Intermediate negotiation and conflict resolution skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to learn new computer programs and departmental processes - High-speed internet is required. Job Summary The Claims Senior Representative serves as a technical expert on claims adjusting and handles injury, material damage, negligence, compensability, damage, and coverage issues. The role determines coverage and investigates, analyzes, negotiates, and settles claims not requiring outside investigation. Westfield Casualty Claims resolves third party liability claims involving injury, property damage, construction defect, personal & advertising injury, and environmental cleanup - both pre-suit and in litigation. Job Responsibilities - Determines whether proper coverage exists for the type of claim assigned. - Investigates thoroughly to obtain relevant facts concerning all aspects of the claim, such as coverage, liability, legal climate, potential exposure, and damages, and makes decisions on claim resolution. - Meets established goals & objectives, arranges for salvage disposition and other recovery proceedings as necessary, participates in claim file reviews and audits with customer and broker. - Determines the value of the physical damage of property, automobiles, or injuries through appropriate tools, recognizes claim file exposures and escalates appropriately. - Provides support in negotiation of settlements with insureds, claimants, vendors, attorneys, and other insurance companies. - Manages approved vendors and counsel utilized as necessary in the claim process, including approval of investigation plans and budgets. - Monitors, reviews, and issues payments to vendors and counsel in accordance with guidelines and standards. - Supports to review proper reserves for each claim based upon thorough investigation, evaluation, and experience. - Identifies and refers all claims to management for further handling and assignment instructions. - Refers claims exceeding authority to appropriate manager or complex claims specialist with recommendations. - Formulates sound recommendations for claims file handling, subsequent transactions, and renewal processing. - Requests additional information from an agent, identifies the need for referral to the field based on underwriting guidelines. - Maintains effective and ongoing communication with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, other insurance companies, representatives, vendors, and company personnel. - Completes appropriate reports to ensure that the claim status is clearly documented, obtains all necessary documentation to support claim evaluation. - Interprets complex and detailed documents such as contracts, legal documents, medical reports, insurance regulations and policies as needed. - Maintains knowledge of related coverage, law, and legislative environment and trends, participates in professional industry groups staying abreast of industry changes and advancements and incorporates best practices. Job Description A day in the life of a Large Loss Field Estimating Property Adjuster, and what it takes to do the job! As a Large Loss Field Estimating Property Adjuster, you will be dedicated to providing exceptional service to our policyholders. Your primary responsibility will involve traveling to our customers' homes to conduct on-site inspections, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and efficiently. Additionally, you will be leveraging various platforms and software such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration. Your expertise will be primarily focused on fire and water losses, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of support and resolution for these specific claims. You'll wear a few hats that will require a level of experience: - The Customer Service Expert –you’ll live into Allstate’s Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring, and you will accomplish that by being compassionate, clear, and a committed partner in each claim. You’ll accomplish this by ensuring timely and accurate documentation is completed as you work on each claim.   Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years previous experience as an outside property adjuster is highly desired. - Experience handling claims with multiple trades and over $100,000 in losses. - Proficiency in using Xactimate and other relevant software for estimating preferred. - Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite claims settlements. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service. - Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims countrywide effectively. - Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality work. - Residency within the posted location is mandatory for this role.
