Your Impact - Participate in the development of project proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans. - Participate in developing the work breakdown structure (WBS) tasks and estimated costs. - Update documentation within designated systems and processes, including: Risk (REF/RMP), Project Management Plan (PMP), Project Quality Plan (QP), Project Safety (PSP), and Communications Plan as necessary. - Assist with facilitating project kick-off meetings with key stakeholders. - Work collaboratively with Project Accounting to assist with monitoring and tracking project metrics, estimated time-to-completion, cash management, and budgeted margin for a project or an assigned portfolio of projects. - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost and change management and control. - Coordinate with area/technical managers to address project resource and subcontractor requirements in a timely manner. - Assist with overseeing subcontractors, and coordinating supplier submissions, invoices, and payments. - Immediately communicate and escalate any project site Health & Safety or client issues to senior PM staff and leadership. - Participate in problem project reviews, providing input about root cause issues and potential solutions to leadership and other stakeholders. - Provide regular project reporting and updates to clients, technical area, and business unit managers. - Liaise with the Procurement Department to closeout procurements and/or supplier agreements as appropriate. - Complete formal project closeout activities, along with conducting and documenting a lessons-learned meeting with key project staff. - Develop sufficient financial acumen to understand project financial data. - Remain current in the latest Project Management techniques and practices (PMAP). - Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. - Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm. - Working towards project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAP-M). - 5+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within our industry. - Understanding of project delivery process within the A/E/C industry and defined background and experience in project management. - Competent analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge the business and project management. - Capable critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make assessments and calculations involving the application of project management principles. - Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others. - Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to changing priorities. - Works independently with minimal oversight and strict adherence to QA/QC. - Well-developed technical writing and office automation skills, including MS Office suite products. - Effective at coordinating resources, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and others to complete tasks competently and efficiently. - Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. - Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. - Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
