Job Description

IT Systems Engineer

PORCH 💚

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, endpoint management tools, SaaS applications, and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, DNS solutions). • Lead the planning and execution of technical projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments to ensure minimal disruption and maximum performance. • Proactively monitor and improve system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance reliability and scalability. • Oversee advanced troubleshooting of complex system, network, and application deployments, delivering root-cause analysis and sustainable long-term solutions. • Design and develop intelligent automation and endpoint management solutions using PowerShell and Bash scripts, enhanced by agentic AI platforms including Anthropic Claude. • Integrate REST APIs and third-party services to orchestrate complex workflows, enabling automated data processing, system integrations, and AI-powered decisioning that drive substantial gains in operational efficiency. • Ensure robust security practices, including patch management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance with regulatory standards such as NIST, CIS, SOX, PCI, and ITGC. • Collaborate with IT leadership and stakeholders to define system architecture strategies and align infrastructure with evolving business objectives. • Mentor Systems Administrators and other IT support staff, providing guidance on best practices, advanced technical concepts, and emerging AI-driven methodologies. • Maintain and enhance disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring systems remain resilient and recoverable. • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures, maintaining a comprehensive knowledge base for IT operations. • Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies to improve system performance and support organizational growth. • Participate in after-hours project work or emergency incident response. • Lead IT-related projects, including cloud migrations, infrastructure scaling, and technology integrations, as assigned. • Perform other IT related duties or projects, as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design and implement complex IT systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 8+ years of progressive experience in IT.
  • Practical knowledge of Azure, Windows, MacOS, and virtualization platforms (e.g., AVD).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash) combined with hands-on experience using agentic AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Anthropic Claude to create intelligent automations and workloads.
  • Demonstrated expertise with endpoint management tools, including the development of custom packages and full endpoint lifecycle management (managed apps, policies, compliance, automated provisioning, maintenance, and retirement).
  • Excellent and fluent communication skills (verbal and written in English), with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
