NWPX Infrastructure
• Accurately estimates the labor and material costs on competitive bids. • Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare estimates. • Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares cost estimates of steel pipe and fittings for competitive bids. • Analyzes data to determine manufacturing capabilities at individual facilities. • Manages estimates for multiple projects simultaneously. • Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness. • Consults with Sales and provides Sales with detailed scopes of work for competitive bids. • Provides information and guidance to Project Managers on all details of an estimate once the project has been awarded. • Reviews estimates done by other Estimators, as needed.
Job Requirements
- Four-year undergraduate degree, preferred.
- Or minimum of 2 years experience in related field.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Must work and communicate well with peers, and other plant personnel.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products used by the company.
- Must have a proficient understanding of civil engineering and surveying terms and methods.
- Must be strong in mathematics through trigonometry.

• Perform cost estimates for HV and MV electrical power systems • Develop detailed material takeoffs • Review client RFP documents to determine scope, schedule and design criteria • Review preliminary design drawings and documents • Assist in client bid evaluation phase, participating in cost reviews, RFI responses, etc. • Present cost estimates to department and company leadership • Compile and track historical bids and project execution costs for reference/use on future bids
