• Lead and manage data center design projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets. • Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams. • Oversee the mechanical engineering aspects of data center design, including HVAC, cooling systems, and energy efficiency measures. • Work closely with electrical and structural engineers to ensure integrated and cohesive design solutions. • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations. • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle. • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations. • Review and approve design documents, specifications, and drawings. • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors. • Evaluate and select suppliers for mechanical systems and components. • Monitor and ensure quality control of materials and workmanship. • Promote sustainable design practices and innovative technologies to enhance data center performance. • Implement energy-saving initiatives and support the company’s sustainability goals. • Ensure rigorous quality assurance processes are followed throughout the project. • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards. • Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation. • Prepare regular status reports for senior management and stakeholders. • Ensure proper handover of completed projects to operations teams.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center design and project management.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling, and energy management.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, Procore).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• The Solar Design Engineer is responsible for the electrical and mechanical design of commercial and utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. • This role supports projects from early-stage site evaluation through issued-for-construction (IFC) design, ensuring systems are optimized for performance, constructability, safety, and regulatory compliance. • Develop electrical and mechanical designs for commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems. • Produce and review wiring diagrams, one-lines, grounding plans, and electrical schematics. • Design mounting layouts and coordinate mechanical integration of racking and structural components. • Perform system sizing, energy modeling, and performance analysis. • Utilize AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other CAD tools to produce accurate design drawings. • Apply MATLAB or similar analytical tools for system modeling and performance evaluation. • Use GIS tools for site assessment, layout optimization, and environmental considerations. • Collaborate with construction, project management, procurement, and permitting teams to ensure constructible designs. • Support construction teams with design clarifications and field issue resolution. • Coordinate with utilities, AHJs, and third-party engineers as required. • Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes (NEC), utility requirements, and industry standards. • Incorporate best practices related to safety, constructability, and long-term system reliability. • Support permitting and interconnection documentation.
• Develop electrical designs for medium- and high-voltage substations supporting renewable energy projects. • Prepare one-lines, three-lines, wiring diagrams, grounding plans, protection and control schematics, and equipment layouts. • Design and specify substation equipment including transformers, breakers, relays, switches, and protection systems. • Perform basic power system studies as required (load flow, short circuit, grounding, etc.). • Produce and review design drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. • Prepare technical specifications, design calculations, and engineering documentation. • Support permitting, utility interconnection, and regulatory submittals. • Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & controls, and solar engineering teams. • Support construction teams by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and resolving field issues. • Ensure designs comply with NEC, NESC, IEEE standards, utility requirements, and project-specific criteria. • Incorporate safety, constructability, and long-term reliability into all designs.
• Review mechanical/HVAC design documents, calculations, and submittals for completeness, constructability, and alignment with Government requirements; provide written comments and recommended resolutions. • Support facility condition assessments by evaluating mechanical systems documentation, identifying deficiencies, and drafting recommended corrective actions. • Perform technical research and analysis related to HVAC performance, ventilation, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality; document findings for Government consideration. • Develop and/or review equipment schedules, sequence of operations narratives, and engineering options analyses to support Government evaluation. • Draft technical inputs for Statements of Work, performance requirements, acceptance criteria, and evaluation factors for Government review and approval. • Coordinate with architectural and other engineering disciplines to identify interfaces (e.g., power, controls, space constraints) and integration issues. • Support commissioning and closeout documentation reviews (as applicable), including verification checklists and deficiency tracking. • Prepare technical briefings, decision-support matrices, and executive summaries for Government stakeholders.
