Mechanical Engineer

• Guide and Direct Production of Mechanical Engineering Documents • Independently perform intermediate to advanced engineering work • Perform intermediate to advanced mechanical design tasks under a senior engineer’s supervision • Perform intermediate to advanced computations and analysis for mechanical systems • Utilize Revit software to prepare drawings and visual aids • Review and write HVAC controls sequence of operations • Guide and Direct Pre-Construction Activities • Survey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports of findings • Collect data and other information for construction documents • Prepare project design and construction documents • Guide and Direct Construction Activities • Work as part of the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team • Interact directly with client on technical issues • Review shop drawings and submittals • Review and respond to RFIs • Review and complete punch lists and project close out documents • Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders • Update and maintain shop drawing and RFI log • Manage personal hours using company tools

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of 1 year of mechanical engineering experience
  • Knowledge of designing mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of codes, code analysis and specifications for mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of DDC controls and monitoring for HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of electrical systems related to HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of fire alarm / protection system devices
  • Skilled at producing drawings and visual aids using Revit
  • Skilled in performing and analyzing load calculations
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
  • Ability to select most HVAC equipment types
  • Ability to create hydronic flow diagrams and specify piping accessories
  • Ability to review and select DDC controls monitoring, and fire alarm / protection system devices & points lists
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
  • Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
