• Manager, IT- Data Engineering role is focused on the core areas of: • Development activities involving projects, enhancements, defects. • Day-to-day operations to ensure business continuity, which also involves managing nightly support for ETL runs. • Team building and performance management involving a team of data engineers. • Lead and manage the team through the transition to cloud based future data platform. • Responsible for intimately overseeing data engineering activities related to development (SDLC) and release management. • Drive day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of existing code base and ETL solutions and manage resources who provide nightly support for ETL runs. • Accountable for continuing performance management, delegation of tasks and accountability, mentorship, and growth of data engineering resources on the team. • Liaising with downstream consumers of our data system as well as other technical teams who are either upstream (ERP source systems), downstream (consumer applications, reporting team, business analytics team) or simply provide underlying platform services(infrastructure) to Data Engineering practice. • Have deep understanding of data systems like Data Lake, Operational Datastore, Data Marts and Warehouses as well as hands on familiarity with ERP data topics (customer, sales and invoicing, supplier etc.). • Having hands-on experience with cloud-based systems and technologies like Azure Subscriptions, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps CICD in terms of development and day-to-day operations is critical to function in this role. Any exposure to Terraform is highly desirable. Azure and Databricks Certifications are highly desirable.

• Owns the full people management lifecycle for direct reports: 1:1s, performance reviews, career development, hiring, terminations, and compensation decisions. • Manages multiple engineering teams, owning people and delivery outcomes across scope. • Ensures teams meet their KPIs and have the right staffing to deliver on commitments. • Develops Tech Leads in their roles, supporting their growth in design ownership, technical mentorship, and delivery accountability. • Owns active project management for feature development—defining scope with Product partners, scheduling delivery, identifying dependencies and complexities, managing timelines, and moving resources as necessary to protect commitments. • Acts as the project management layer for engineering: coordinates with Product Managers to align on deadlines and priorities, surfaces risks early, and proactively resolves scheduling conflicts. • Holds Tech Leads accountable to delivery commitments and design completion. Gut-checks estimates and engages with project designs, plans, and scope definitions to identify execution and schedule risk. • Holds partial accountability for burn charts—does not own them outright but is responsible for ensuring they accurately reflect project health. • Ensures deployment plans are defined and in place ahead of every feature release. • Identifies technical and schedule risks across projects; partners with Tech Leads on mitigation strategies before issues escalate. • Partners with Product Management to understand priorities, define features clearly, and negotiate tradeoffs between scope, time, and resources. • Partners with Tech Leads to ensure execution proceeds correctly per process and standards. Where execution gaps exist, addresses them through coaching, resourcing, or process intervention. • Drives process improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency, delivery predictability, and engineering quality.

• Lead a talented team of platform engineers while taking full accountability for the performance, delivery, and evolution of the engineering foundations that power every product at Traild. • Own the cloud infrastructure and developer platforms that enable our product engineering teams to build, ship and operate software at scale. • Shape the team's technical direction, operating model, and long-term strategy. • Define and maintain a roadmap that connects engineering work to clear customer and business outcomes, with visibility across the full team. • Build and maintain the systems, playbooks, and feedback loops that make your teams fast, reliable, and self-sufficient. • Lead, coach, and develop Engineering Managers and individual contributors, focusing on equitable growth and high performance. • Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to scope, resource, and deliver outcomes across a globally distributed team.

• As a Senior Engineering Manager for our Integrations team, you will lead multiple engineering squads, managing and developing other Engineering Managers and taking full accountability for the performance, delivery, and growth of one of the most business-critical areas of Traild. • High-quality integrations with the world's major ERP platforms are central to Traild's success and a key product differentiator, underpinned by strong partnerships with ERP providers themselves. • You will own delivery and growth outcomes across a globally distributed team with engineers in Australia, South Africa, SE Asia and North America, spanning technically challenging problems across APIs, data, and distributed systems. • You will own the technical direction, architecture quality, and engineering standards across your group, setting the bar actively rather than reactively. • Build and maintain the systems, playbooks, and feedback loops that make your teams fast, reliable, and self-sufficient. • Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to scope, resource, and deliver outcomes across a globally distributed team.
