Sales Commissions Advisor

• Lead the design, administration, and continuous improvement of incentive compensation programs across domestic and international sales organizations, ensuring plans align with business objectives, growth strategies, and desired seller behaviors • Develop and recommend compensation structures across multiple sales motions, including new business, renewals, retention, specialist roles, accelerators, and strategic initiatives, while evaluating plan effectiveness and recommending enhancements based on performance trends and business priorities • Own end-to-end commission operations, including calculations, payouts, adjustments, disputes, exceptions, holdbacks, clawbacks, and governance • Establish scalable processes, controls, documentation standards, and audit practices that ensure compensation programs are accurate, compliant, transparent, and operationally efficient • Partner with Finance, HR, Payroll, Legal, Revenue Operations, and Sales Operations to support compensation planning, compliance requirements, audits, and issue resolution • Develop executive-level reporting and dashboards to analyze compensation performance, plan effectiveness, seller outcomes/attainment, trends, risks, and opportunities • Develop financial models, forecasts, accrual analyses, executive reporting, and performance dashboards that provide insights into compensation effectiveness, seller attainment, compensation expense, risks, and business trends • Serve as business owner for the Incentive Compensation Management platform, driving implementation, administration, optimization, automation, and alignment with evolving business requirements • Act as the primary compensation advisor to business and sales leadership, providing strategic guidance, resolving complex escalations, and supporting executive decision-making across multiple business units

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Analytics, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Incentive Compensation, Sales Compensation, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis, or related disciplines
  • Experience designing, administering, and governing complex incentive compensation programs across multiple business units, sales organizations, and geographic regions
  • Expert Excel skills, including advanced financial modeling, commission calculations, large-scale spreadsheet management, and analysis of complex compensation scenarios
  • Experience managing compensation programs in spreadsheet-based environments and leading the transition to automated commission management platforms
  • Experience with Salesforce and incentive compensation platforms such as CaptivateIQ, Xactly, Varicent, Spiff, or similar solutions
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and business partnership skills, with the ability to balance strategic planning and operational execution.

Job Description As a Territory Sales Manager supporting our Moen business, you'll help grow our market presence by building strong, lasting relationships with plumbing wholesalers, plumbers, builders, and other trade professionals throughout your assigned territory. Working with an established customer base, you'll identify opportunities to expand existing business, strengthen customer partnerships, and help customers find the right plumbing solutions to support their business growth. In this collaborative, customer-focused role, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to your customers by providing product expertise, sharing market insights, and delivering exceptional service. Working closely with your Regional Manager and cross-functional partners, you'll leverage your industry knowledge and relationships to strengthen customer loyalty, increase product adoption, and drive sustainable territory growth. This role is ideal for someone with plumbing or showroom sales experience who enjoys building long-term relationships, becoming a trusted resource for customers, and uncovering opportunities within an established territory. You'll partner with customers at every level, from wholesale counter personnel and purchasing teams to plumbers, builders, contractors, and business owners, while representing one of the most recognized brands in the plumbing industry. POSITION LOCATION: This is a field-based position supporting our Moen business throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and parts of Maryland. The territory includes Alexandria, Arlington, Chantilly, Fairfax, and Woodbridge, Virginia; Washington, DC; and Beltsville, Gaithersburg, and Rockville, Maryland. Candidates must reside within the assigned territory to effectively support customers and business objectives, with a preference for those located in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC area. Regular travel throughout the territory is required, including approximately 2 to 3 overnight trips per month. This role requires up to 50% travel, primarily consisting of day travel by vehicle. A company car and expense card are provided for approved travel-related expenses. What you will be doing - Build and strengthen relationships with plumbing wholesalers, plumbers, builders, contractors, and other trade professionals throughout your territory. - Grow an established book of business by identifying opportunities to expand product adoption and strengthen customer partnerships. - Develop and execute territory sales plans that support annual sales objectives and long-term business growth. - Present merchandising, marketing, and promotional programs that provide value to customers and increase market presence. - Deliver exceptional customer service through regular account visits, proactive communication, and timely follow-up. - Educate customers through product presentations, training sessions, and participation in trade shows and industry events. - Partner with Territory Managers, Strategic Account Managers, Business Development Managers, and Regional leadership to support wholesale and builder initiatives. - Maintain ongoing communication with key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and identify new business opportunities. - Utilize CRM tools and company sales processes to effectively manage customer relationships, territory activity, and sales opportunities. - Share customer feedback, market insights, and competitive intelligence with internal teams to support future product and business strategies. - Represent Moen and Fortune Brands Innovations with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. - Manage territory travel and administrative responsibilities while supporting overall business objectives. Qualifications - 5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably within the plumbing, building materials, construction products, or a related industry. - Experience building and maintaining relationships with plumbing wholesalers, distributors, plumbers, builders, contractors, or other channel partners. - Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to establish trust and credibility across a variety of customer groups. - Experience presenting products, delivering customer training, and supporting sales and marketing initiatives. - Ability to work independently, manage a territory effectively, and adjust priorities to meet customer and business needs. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint). - Must reside within the assigned territory and be comfortable traveling up to 50%, primarily by vehicle, including approximately 2 to 3 overnight trips per month. - Valid driver's license. Additional Information Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $60,000 USD - $99,000 USD.
