Data Governance, Metadata Scientist

Bart & Associates, Inc.

• Celestar, a B&A Company, is looking for a Data Governance & Metadata Scientist in support of an important mission. • In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a great team while supporting SOUTHCOM. • Develop, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks. • Ensure metadata consistency, lineage tracking, and interoperability between Data Lake, ESRI Kubernetes environments, and external data sources.

Job Requirements

  • Proposed personnel possess the knowledge and capability to develop, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks, ensuring metadata consistency, lineage tracking, and interoperability between Data Lake, ESRI Kubernetes environments, and external data sources.
  • Personnel must be proficient in metadata management, data lineage tracking (Unity Catalog/OpenLineage), schema alignment, and governance best practices.
  • Expertise in geospatial data standards, data cataloging, and compliance with DoD metadata policies is required.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in implementing metadata governance frameworks for structured and unstructured data in cloud-based environments.
  • Tracking data lineage and ensuring metadata synchronization across a Data Catalog, ESRI Kubernetes, and enterprise metadata repositories.
  • Utilizing OpenLineage, Apache Atlas, or similar tools for metadata and data lineage management.
  • Enforcing compliance with DoD metadata policies and NSG tradecraft standards for geospatial datasets.
