Job Overview: As a PDE CEM Snr /Staff Process Development Engineer, you will work in a dynamic team environment at Micron Technologies in our leading back end technology fabrication facility located in Sanand, Gujarat. The primary focus of this position is to own the development and optimization of the packaging assembly processes to meet the schedule of business cases. To work on new product introduction and improving the yield, quality and reliability with process characterization and optimization and new materials, machines & technologies introduction. This position will also require you to drive continues improvement by improving the process margins and process capabilities. You will also be required to identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly process related problems by applying problem solving skills while Integrating AI and data-driven methodologies to enhance process understanding, enable predictive control, and accelerate decision-making in high-volume manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Process Development & NPI - Own Process of Record (POR), process windows, and capability (CPK) - Drive NPI qualification with strong first-pass success - Define process specifications: parameters, tool setup, conditions, tolerances Process Optimization & Control - Apply DOE, SPC, Six Sigma to characterize and optimize processes - Identify key process variables and center processes for robustness - Develop process capability roadmap and drive continuous improvement Problem Solving & Yield Improvement - Lead RCA, FMEA, OCAP, and structured problem resolution - Perform containment and implement corrective/preventive actions - Improve yield, reliability, and process margins AI & Data-Driven Enablement - Leverage AI/ML and analytics to: - Predict yield trends and detect early excursions - Identify hidden process correlations and variation drivers - Enable predictive process control and anomaly detection - Utilize MES, equipment, and yield data to drive insights - Collaborate with digital teams to deploy AI-enabled dashboards/tools Technology & Innovation - Evaluate and introduce new materials, equipment, and packaging technologies - Drive cost reduction and productivity improvements Systems & Leadership - Develop control plans, quality metrics, and capability monitoring systems - Coach and guide process teams; ensure safe operations - Collaborate across PDE, Manufacturing, Yield, and Equipment teams Qualifications Experience & Education - 8+ years in semiconductor process development / backend assembly - Master's / PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Electrical Engineering Core Skills - Strong expertise in: - Assembly processes and packaging integration - DOE, SPC, FMEA, RCA, Six Sigma - Statistical analysis (JMP or equivalent) AI & Digital Skills - Working knowledge of data analytics / machine learning fundamentals - Exposure to Python, SQL, or analytics tools preferred - Ability to apply AI insights to process engineering problems - Familiarity with Industry 4.0 / smart manufacturing concepts Success Profile - Delivers high-CPK, robust processes with strong yield performance - Drives measurable improvements in yield, cost, and process capability - Combines deep process expertise with data-driven and AI-enabled decision-making - Leads cross-functional execution for scalable manufacturing impact About Micron Technology, Inc.
