Data Product Owner – Agile Business Analyst, Medallion, Data, Consulting, 10+ years

• Act as the key liaison between client stakeholders and delivery teams on data programmes/projects • Write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria by breaking down Epics for integration and reporting use cases. • Lead feature/data product kickoffs to ensure business context and delivery alignment. • Facilitate estimation sessions and story readiness to support sprint planning. • Collaborate closely with developers and testers to validate “done” stories and ensure Client sign-off. • Partner with technical leads, client SMEs to ensure requirements are accurate, complete, and technically feasible. • Support the Client in managing and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure alignment with business goals. • Conduct backlog refinement sessions with the team to clarify requirements, dependencies, and priorities. • Ensure stories meet the team’s definition of ready before sprint planning. • Track and communicate backlog health and sprint progress through Agile tools (e.g., Jira).
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst in Agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban) for 10+ years
- Skilled in user story writing, backlog management, and stakeholder facilitation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to connect business and technical contexts.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Agile reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
- Strong experience in data and analytics projects, including data lineage, transformation, and quality.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL
- Exposure to BI/reporting and DWH integration use cases
- Understanding of the medallion data architecture and/or modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake).
- Experience working in technology consultancy or data transformation programs.
