Software Engineer III

• Develop and maintain highly concurrent and distributed backend services; • Contribute to architectural discussions and help shape technical decisions within the team; • Design, develop and test new features with a strong focus on quality and reliability; • Profile and optimise system performance, diagnosing and resolving issues proactively; • Support the release and documentation of developed features; • Estimate effort required to develop and implement solutions; • Contribute to coding standards and development processes; • Provide out-of-hours support as part of an on-call rota.

Job Requirements

  • Solid programming skills in Go (Golang) or strong experience with JVM technologies (Java/Spring Boot) and a genuine desire to learn Go;
  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-grade systems at scale;
  • Experience with highly concurrent, distributed architectures and systems;
  • Experience with containerised applications;
  • Experience building REST/HTTP based services;
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redis);
  • Some experience contributing to architectural decisions within a team;
  • Strong test suite design skills, including Unit, Integration and Smoke tests;
  • Clear and effective communication of problems and solutions across team members.
