• Lead enterprise systems administration, network operations, and operations and maintenance (O&M) activities across the USMEPCOM enterprise. • Serve as the contractor's service owner for enterprise infrastructure services and ensure systems consistently meet defined service level objectives. • Plan, organize, and direct contractor personnel responsible for operations and maintenance of USMEPCOM-constructed networks. • Provide technical leadership for Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems, physical and virtual servers, databases, VMware ESXi environments, Storage Area Networks (SANs), collaboration tools, enterprise applications, and cloud infrastructure. • Perform system-level configuration, validation, integration, and administration of enterprise hardware, software, operating systems, and infrastructure platforms while maintaining interoperability with existing legacy systems. • Lead engineering development, infrastructure integration, interface design analysis, software and hardware testing, and enterprise systems implementation activities. • Apply Risk Management Framework (RMF) security principles, practices, and procedures to maintain compliance with Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements. • Lead the Outage Response Team (ORT) and direct all activities associated with enterprise outage response, incident management, disaster recovery, and Continuity of Operations (COOP). • Serve as the primary point of contact during enterprise outages, coordinating response activities with Government leadership, vendors, DISA, external agencies, and other stakeholders. • Coordinate, direct, and oversee outage resolution efforts while providing timely status updates to Government leadership throughout incident response activities. • Develop, maintain, and regularly update enterprise outage response procedures, Incident Response Plans, disaster recovery documentation, and operational playbooks. • Review Incident Response Plans quarterly to ensure system inventories, procedures, documentation, and operational processes remain current. • Lead geographically dispersed teams responsible for enterprise infrastructure operations, systems administration, and network support. • Monitor enterprise performance, availability, and operational health while proactively identifying opportunities for infrastructure improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies. • Support cloud technologies, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), enterprise networking, firewall administration, secure communications, and enterprise modernization initiatives. • Foster continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with Federal Government, Department of Defense, and enterprise IT operational standards and best practices.

• Serve as the final technical authority during critical incidents where standard escalations have proven ineffective. • Lead deep-dive forensic analyses to identify root cause and provide immediate workarounds or permanent fixes. • Utilize advanced debugging and packet analysis to isolate complex network anomalies. • Provide real-time technical intervention to restore service availability during major outages. • Conduct independent, peer-level reviews of proposed architectural changes, capacity upgrades, and new site deployments. • Identify hidden risks, single points of failure, and configuration vulnerabilities in proposed network designs. • Provide a "Red Team" perspective on network changes to ensure they meet the highest standards of stability and performance. • Validate complex route redistribution strategies, BGP policy implementations, and high-availability designs prior to production deployment. • Provide expert guidance on lifecycle management, technology roadmaps, and hardware/software selections. • Assist in the technical evaluation of new Cisco platforms (e.g., Catalyst 9000 series, Nexus 9k) to ensure compatibility and optimal configuration. • Advise leadership on high-risk technical decisions, translating complex network issues into clear business impact assessments. • Contribute to the development of network standards, best practices, and operational runbooks. • Guide internal engineering teams through complex resolution processes to facilitate knowledge transfer during engagements. • Conduct post-incident reviews and provide detailed root-cause analysis reports. • Recommend proactive measures and architectural improvements to prevent recurrence of critical incidents.

Role Description We are looking for an Experienced Network Engineer to join our international team and support the qualification and validation of IP/MPLS-based network services and infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for testing VPN services, IP Backbone components, and Route Reflector functionality, ensuring the stability and quality of our network solutions. - Perform qualification and validation testing of network hardware and software. - Execute functional, integration, and regression testing for IP/MPLS-based services. - Validate VPN services running on LER/CPE platforms. - Test and qualify IP Backbone components and Route Reflector functionality. - Analyze test results, identify defects, and support issue resolution. - Update and maintain network configuration documentation (TIKs) and test documentation. - Collaborate closely with network engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure high-quality service delivery. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and quality standards. Qualifications - Experience in network testing, network operations, or network engineering. - Strong understanding of IP networking and MPLS technologies in Cisco and Juniper environments. - Good knowledge of VPN technologies (knowledge of L2VPN/L3VPN is an advantage). - Experience with BGP and Route Reflectors. - Familiarity with IP Backbone environments and routing concepts. - Experience performing functional and regression testing in a telecom or networking environment. - Ability to analyze complex network issues and troubleshoot effectively. - Good documentation skills. - Good command of written and spoken English. Requirements - Nice to Have: - Experience with telecom or service provider networks. - Knowledge of LER/CPE platforms. - Familiarity with test automation tools or scripting (e.g., Python). - Experience with network protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, or EVPN. - German language skills.
