We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager who is ready to lead through ambiguity and improve how software gets built at MongoDB. This role leads teams focused on developer productivity, with an emphasis on measurable improvements to the software development lifecycle. This role can be based remotely in Canada. The TeamThe AXIS team (AI, X-functional tools, Insights, and Signals) sits within Developer Productivity and is responsible for overseeing the metrics and observability infrastructure of our expansive developer environment to help build a strong data-driven culture. You’ll also be a key partner in building the agentic ecosystem for AI-driven development across engineering. Candidate ProfileWe’re looking for an experienced leader with a passion for solving the big challenge of measuring developer productivity and providing the actionable signals that help teams improve their performance. They should be comfortable working collaboratively with other leaders and partners across our Engineering and Data teams in maximizing the use of data for insights and AI enablement. The right candidate for this role will have - 4+ years of experience managing software engineers, including hiring, performance management, growth planning, and compensation; required for external candidates and preferred for internal candidates - 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and operating production systems; experience in developer tooling, platform engineering, observability, or data engineering is a strong plus - Demonstrated the ability to lead through ambiguity, work across team boundaries, and deliver outcomes without close supervision - Strong customer orientation and sound judgment in finding practical, high-leverage solutions - Experience working with systems involving analytics, data pipelines, and metrics platforms - Experience with AI tools development and enablement efforts - Strong technical judgment, including the ability to evaluate tradeoffs, identify risks, and ask the right questions without needing to be hands-on in the code every day - Ability to connect observability, engineering metrics, and AI capabilities to meaningful improvements in the developer ecosystem - Excellent communication skills with engineers, peer managers, and senior leadership - A track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams where engineers can do their best work Position Expectations - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement - Improve engineering visibility and decision-making. Ensure your team delivers the systems, analytics, and reporting needed for Engineering leadership to understand the health, performance, and efficiency of the software development lifecycle - Evaluate, integrate, and build AI-enabled interfaces and tools that drive engineer productivity improvements, with a focus on measurable impact and responsible rollout - Drive the roadmap. Partner with Staff and Senior Staff ICs, TPMs, and stakeholders to define and evolve a 12-month roadmap that balances near-term delivery with long-term platform investment Success Measures - In the first month, understand the team structure, active projects, and stakeholder landscape. Role Description We are seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to play a pivotal role in growing and broadening the support base for our SIPP proposition within the UK financial adviser market. This is a senior, high-impact role combining new business origination with relationship deepening. The role will suit someone who thrives in a lower-infrastructure environment, is comfortable building their own momentum, and takes pride in developing structure, insight, and opportunity. This is a permanent role and geographic location is flexible (outside London), with a genuinely UK-wide remit. - Identify, prioritise and pursue new adviser relationships capable of delivering long-term, repeat SIPP business. - Actively manage and deepen relationships with existing key introducers, recognising that adviser-level engagement does not automatically translate into firm-wide support. - Build strong working relationships with advisers, paraplanners, research teams and support staff. - Apply sound judgement in targeting adviser firms, recognising where our proposition is well-differentiated and where it is not. - Support the business as proposition changes are introduced, including in commercial property SIPPs. - Manage and convert suitable non-advised enquiries in line with regulatory boundaries and internal policies.
