Senior Electrical Engineer

CRB

• Serve as the primary electrical discipline lead for large, complex projects. • Manage project budgets and schedules from an electrical design perspective. • Interface with clients, contractors, and external stakeholders. • Lead electrical system design programming and master planning. • Oversee quality assurance for design documents and calculations. • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers. • Support construction activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reporting. • Develop and deliver internal training presentations on electrical design and engineering best practices. • Collaborate with Project Managers on proposals, resource planning, and scheduling for electrical scope of work.

Job Requirements

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration.
  • Advanced knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in electrical system design, including lighting, power, and specialty systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and intermediate knowledge of building codes.
  • Experience leading field surveys and preparing detailed reports.
  • Proficiency in cross-discipline coordination and collaboration with construction partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and system issues effectively.

Role Description Welty Energy is looking for a Substation Engineer to join our team! As part of the Welty Energy Substation Team, you will represent our client(s) specific to substation design working on projects ranging from 12kV-500kV. While this position can be remote, the hired team member is to be based in the state of New Jersey (currently). Relocation and sponsorship is unfortunately not provided at this time. Day to day, you may: - Create and modify protection and control design drawings including, but not limited to one-lines, three-lines, AC schematics, DC schematics, communication drawings, wiring diagrams, etc. - Create and modify physical drawings including plan and section views, yard layouts, bill of material lists, grounding drawings, etc. - Perform calculations such as battery sizing, AC loading, voltage drop, conduit fill, lightning protection, lighting design, and ground grid studies. - Perform reviews of Substation Engineers and Designers work to ensure they meet code, customer requirements, and good engineering practices. - Coordinate with other disciplines such as project management and civil engineering teams. - Interface with client’s engineering groups and project management team to provide regular and timely updates. - Review manufacturer drawings. - Incorporate red line drawings from the field to as-builts. - Update design leads or project managers on project status as needed. - Perform site visits when necessary.
