Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience designing and evolving large-scale distributed systems in production environments.
- Proven experience owning architectural components of high-availability, mission-critical platforms.
- Strong expertise in scalable design patterns, performance optimization, reliability engineering, and modern cloud-based architectures.
- Proficiency with modern development practices, including continuous integration and delivery, infrastructure as code, and observability tooling.
- Experience collaborating across teams to deliver cross-functional technical initiatives that improve system stability, scalability, or efficiency.
- Clear, structured communication skills with the ability to document architectural decisions and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for mentoring engineers, providing actionable design feedback, and continuously improving engineering standards.

Role Description We have an immediate opening for an Avionics Engineer with our client in CA who is a leading supplier of space products and has a growing presence in the US Aircraft industry specializing in galleys design, Mechanical Systems, and Freighter conversions in CATIA, also to provide engineering, project development and technical consulting services to the aerospace industry. This is a remote position. Coordinates, manages, oversees and ensures activities related to the success of the avionics engineering group. Facilitates interdepartmental cohesiveness between and including avionics engineering, certification and supply chain; overseeing the activities of other companies, vendors and individuals by performing the following duties: - Design aircraft electrical systems and installations and generate substantiation documents that will be acceptable to the FAA. - Communicate clearly with the engineering team, other GTI departments and vendors as required to facilitate smooth production and substantiation of GTI electrical designs. - Prepare meeting materials and present electrical/avionics status updates, including the status of drawings and substantiation documents, as required to keep all parties informed of progress, gain team consensus and ensure progress is made, overseeing the avionics/electrical package to completion. - Plan and oversee the avionics/electrical drawing and substantiation packages. - Prepare staffing plans, anticipate critical path issues and set a schedule to meet program schedules and budgets. - May use computer-assisted engineering, design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering and a minimum of 15 years industry experience including experience in aircraft avionics design, installation, integration and certification; or a Master's degree (M. S.) or equivalent; and 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
