Company Description
Design Engineer
PairesPaires is where founders come to raise capital. We pair them with the right investors from a large, engaged global investor network, then our agents run the warm outreach and manage the relationships that turn into meetings.
Role Description We are hiring a Design Engineer to own our frontend and build it to an exceptional bar. Paires is an AI-first fundraising platform. We pair founders with the right investors from a large, engaged global investor network, then run the warm outreach that turns into meetings. It is a two-sided platform, live with paying clients, profitable and self-funded, built by a small, senior, flat team that ships fast. The role: - You own frontend development at Paires. - Design matters a lot to us, and you will not carry it alone: we have an exceptional designer on the team, and you work closely with them while bringing your own taste to the table. - The frontend itself has one owner - you. Not a group of engineers taking turns on it. - You build the founder-facing product, the internal platform, and soon an investor-facing portal: data-dense screens founders trust with sensitive information. - When a feature needs more than frontend work to come to life, you have the full-stack range to take it all the way. - You work inside a tightly knit senior team and report directly to the co-founders. What you will own: - Production UI in Next.js and React. The frontend is yours. - The founder journey and the investor portal, with the polish that makes them feel premium. - Full-stack work where a feature needs it, from backend to shipped screen. - Design decisions made together with our designer, and the craft details most teams skip. Qualifications - Ship production React and Next.js used by real users, and know Tailwind and Supabase on the front end. - Build what you design without a handoff: real taste, strong opinions about craft, and the engineering to ship it yourself. - Have a portfolio of live products, not just mockups. We build product UI: dashboards, data-dense workflows, AI-native surfaces. If your portfolio is mostly marketing sites and landing pages, this is not your seat. - Can go beyond the frontend when needed: comfortable in the backend, able to ship a feature end to end. - Have shipped production work for several years - this seat is not a first job. - Move fast with AI tooling and review the output critically. - Bonus: shadcn/ui, design systems, motion, data-heavy dashboards, AI-product UI like streaming interfaces and human-review surfaces. Benefits - Fully remote and async. Your day overlaps with US Eastern time for a few hours - not full US hours. - Meetings batch on Mondays and Thursdays, the rest is deep work. - The best AI tooling, paid (Claude Code, Cursor, top models). How to Apply Hit apply, which takes you to our short application form. We read every application.

Qualifications - 5+ years of experience with Apache Kafka. - Strong knowledge of Kafka administration and troubleshooting. - Experience with Linux, Java, or Python. - Experience with monitoring and logging tools. - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. - Active IRS MBI clearance is required. - Previous IRS or federal experience is a plus. Requirements - NEED IRS MBI Clearance.
