Role Description We are currently seeking an Operational Support Area Manager to join our North American market (NAM) Operations team. This will be a virtual/remote-based role supporting our sites across North America. This role is responsible for remote and onsite enrichment of our operations teams across the North American market which will support company-initiated goals around KPIs/site contributions, training initiatives, mentoring, hiring activities, and overall employee experience. This role will be reporting directly to the Vice President, NAM Operations. - Lead project management for business-as-usual projects as well as projects for new site launches. - Interact with the local operation team to ensure performance standards are maintained and new programs/systems are flawlessly implemented within their assigned area(s). - Work with NAM Leadership (Operations, Finance, and People & Culture/Training) to create, plan, and execute at least two on-site contests that utilize skills developed in training focusing on a performance KPI(s) that drive Site Contribution over a period of time. - Support initiatives to centralize, review, and refresh current training materials to determine missing content or content that requires updating. - Partner with Training to establish curricula for digital/virtual training programs that are constant, dynamic, and engaging. - Assist with establishing curricula for Site management training and mentoring programs. - Assist with on-site training for new site launches. - Coordinate remote or on-site live training and workshops as required. - Partner with local site and area management teams to develop short and long-term hiring goals. - Participate in hiring events or activities such as in-person or remote screening (e.g., group interviews, or career events) for new Smile Team Members as needed. - Partner with P&C to move candidates through the onboarding process by ensuring readiness for Day 1 activities such as paperwork completion and orientation. - Temporarily step into an Area Manager role if an extended leave of absence or open position would occur to bridge any gap in leadership. - Provide operational support to Vice President(s), Operations. Qualifications - High school diploma or general education degree (GED). - 2-4 years coaching, teaching/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to support teams, develop culture, demonstrate coaching, and ongoing performance management. - Ability and drive to assist in this ‘hands-on’ role, with demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and KPIs in a busy retail environment. - Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. - Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, management, and cross-functional team members. - Tech Savvy with an ability to take tech-related items and translate them into working training materials. - Ability to support operations 7 days a week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. - Ability to travel up to 25% as needed to support training initiatives, as well as new site operations.
