• The Early Phase Project Manager is responsible for the development, conduct and completion of research projects in accordance with the reasonable requirements of the originator of the project. • Responsible for all aspects of study management activities including cross-functional team leadership and co-ordination, Client communication/management, financial management and overall study delivery. • Ensure studies are resourced effectively, managed efficiently, achieve project objectives within allocated budgets and agreed timelines and are conducted to the highest standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements and applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). • Mentors/coaches Junior Project Management staff or Clinical Delivery Leads and assists their technical development. • Manage independently or with support from Portfolio Delivery Leads or Line Manager. • Maintain effective professional relationships with external customers, investigators and vendors. • Maintain effective professional relationships with internal project team including those providing academic input. • Provide clear guidance to project team on project specific deliverables. • Attend relevant project specific meetings including formal kick-off meetings. • Develop project plan and other internal project management documents. • Coordinate the feasibility planning and selection process of project sites. • Identify project specific activities that need to be outsourced and be involved in the selection of suitable vendor/s. • Manage the implementation, ongoing evaluation, prioritisation, reporting and timely delivery of all operational aspects of allocated projects.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in a science or related field
- Previous experience working on clinical projects within an academic, CRO or pharmaceutical company environment
- Relevant work experience recommended for this role may be approximately seven (7) years of industry experience, with 1-2 years of PM experience
- Proficiency in Mandarin is a mandatory requirement for this role
- Prior CRA experience preferred or site management role experience, trial coordination or relevant industry experience required
- Experience in managing early-phase and healthy volunteer studies are plus, not mandatory.
- Experience managing single or different regions, working across different therapeutic indications, managing full-service studies, worked on early phase clinical trial
- Excellent working knowledge of, and ability to implement project activities in accordance with, ICH/GCP and all applicable regulations and guidelines in the relevant regions.
- Previous exposure to client-facing interactions and/or client management
- Project finance management experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills, presentation skills and team Leadership ability including leading virtual teams in a cross-cultural environment and dealing with conflict
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including excellent presentation skills.

Role Description The (Senior) Scientific Project Manager will be responsible for providing project management oversight to a biopharmaceutical client tasked with managing and executing analytical testing, method development and/or validation of such assays as immunoassays, bioassays, pharmacokinetic and/or flow cytometry assays under Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). He/she will provide project management and technical support to teams conducting training, technical transfer, data review and trending analysis. The Sr. Project Manager must have the ability to effectively monitor the performance of CROs and service providers. The incumbent will also be responsible for operational documentation including SOPs, validation protocols and reports, transfer protocols and reports, and management reports. What will you do? - Vendor Management: - Lead the contracting with third-party lab service providers for assay development and validation. - Collaborate with business operations, procurement, and clinical teams to ensure appropriate SOWs and contracts. - Study Coordination: - Manage critical reagent supply and sample analysis. - Work closely with bioanalytical strategy leads, clinical trial teams, and lab service providers to finalize study documents and meet timelines. - Support the development of novel Bioanalytical processes. - Documentation and Data: - Provide input into clinical trial documents (e.g., eCRFs, ICFs, SOWs). - Drive the delivery of data transfer specifications and ensure data accuracy. - Sample Logistics: - Track and reconcile sample testing, resolving any issues that arise. - Contribute to cleaning and finalizing data.
