Lead eBOS Engineer
Nextracker Inc.
• Lead the electrical engineering and design of eBOS systems for utility-scale photovoltaic projects • Develop and optimize AC and DC electrical distribution layouts, including trunk bus systems, string harnesses, combiner boxes, disconnects, grounding systems, and related electrical infrastructure • Lead electrical design reviews and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, customer specifications, and project requirements • Develop and manage engineering requirements, technical deliverables, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation packages, including: Electrical schematics Layout drawings BOMs Installation drawings Technical specifications Test documentation • Provide technical leadership during project execution, supporting engineering decisions from proposal through commissioning • Work directly with customers, EPCs, developers, and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into optimized engineering solutions • Support Sales during pre- and post-sales activities by providing technical presentations, design recommendations, and proposal support • Drive value engineering initiatives focused on improving system performance, constructability, manufacturability, and cost reduction • Analyze technical challenges and develop repeatable, practical, and supportable engineering solutions within project timelines • Support product and system integration activities for new and existing eBOS solutions • Analyze field performance and failure data, identifying corrective and preventive actions that improve product reliability and customer satisfaction • Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to continuously improve products, documentation, engineering standards, and internal processes • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across engineering projects • Lead multiple engineering projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, schedule, and customer expectations
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, eBOS design, power distribution, or utility-scale solar projects
- Strong experience designing AC and DC electrical distribution systems, including systems operating above 1kV DC
- Experience with utility-scale PV system integration and Electrical Balance of System (eBOS)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of electrical drafting standards and engineering documentation
- Experience preparing engineering deliverables including drawings, BOMs, installation packages, and technical specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and project management capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience interacting with customers and cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative team player.
