Database Administrator/Developer
Planned Systems International
• Provide support for the IETSS MM program • Analyze current and potential disparate data sources • Participate in the validation of data quality • Build, test, schedule, and troubleshoot extract, transform, and load (ETL) SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) projects, solutions, and tasks built in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) and executed from SQL Server • Continually measure, analyze, and improve database system performance, availability, sustainability, and security • Discover, troubleshoot, and correct any database system issues in real time • Create, modify, and maintain advanced SQL queries • Review and suggest refinements to proposed database modifications • Support all phases of solution deployment activities • Plan and perform regular database maintenance on a periodic basis • Be available for after-hours activities on occasion as needed • Aid in the build of data visualizations and reports in Power BI or other IETSS accepted reporting/data visualization tools • Assist with the extraction of requirements and assignments for proposed or impending initiatives • Develop database objects, including but not limited to tables, functions, procedures, views, and database links in SQL Server using standard operating procedures (SOP) • Review and pull information about IETSS processes, policies, and procedures from IETSS documentation • Contribute to or write portions of TPQI Measures and Metrics documentation • Support quality and process improvement methodologies to develop and continuously update the TPQI Plan • Assist in the authoring, review, and revision of IETSS program and process documentation and artifact templates.
Job Requirements
- 5 + years of experience in SQL database administration, database development, data engineering, or a similar technical role
- Relational database technologies and data normalization
- Microsoft SQL Server 2022 or higher
- Database backup and recovery
- Disaster recovery planning and execution
- Producing, reviewing, and updating system and procedural documentation
- Creating, tuning, and maintaining complex SQL queries
- Data warehouse architecture, design, and implementation
- Transact-SQL programming
- SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Designing and maintaining extract, transform, and load (ETL) packages, tasks, and processes
- Build and maintenance of Business intelligence (BI) and management reports
- SharePoint Online
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio 2013 or higher
- TOAD for SQL Server or SSMS
- Remote Desktop Connection
- United States government-related work (e.g., Department of Defense, VA)
