Role Description The Advanced Workflow Specialist, Confocal is responsible for providing technical pre- and post-sales support for all advanced confocal microscopy products. Support will be provided to Leica’s Life Science Research customers and Account Managers in all facets of their selling activities. The AWS-C will perform product demonstrations, troubleshooting, and training sessions with end customers and sales reps. This role will also handle demonstration system logistics and confirm correct system functionality as well as perform successful product demonstrations to drive advanced widefield system sales. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager, West and is part of the Life Science Research team. The AWS-C will be based in the SoCal area and work remotely covering SoCal, AZ, NV, NM, UT & CO. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: - Provide expert product, application and software support to customers and sales and perform successful product demonstrations to drive sales results. - Provide technical troubleshooting and conduct trainings for customers and Leica employees. - Participate and instruct in customer workshops and schedule/run product seminars. - Work with customers or other professionals to generate field data and application notes, which highlight product benefits and help differentiate Leica products. - Assist in meeting sales goals for each of the confocal sales reps in his/her assigned territory and provide positive motivation and support to help sales reps meet their goals. Qualifications - BA/BS in the life sciences or optics field and minimum 2 years in a research environment, regularly applying microscopy and digital imaging techniques. - 2 years of imaging analysis experience. - Teaching or training experience, providing training and advice on how to use imaging equipment and techniques to solve scientific questions. - Familiarity with biological imaging applications; fluorescence, confocal microscopy and optics experience highly valued. Requirements - Ability to travel 50% overnight within the US. - Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. - Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 15 lbs.
