Role Description We’re looking for someone who thinks big, sweats the small stuff and keeps things simple. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to: - Understand the investing needs of our customers, empowering both new and sophisticated investors with the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions. - Partner closely with engineering, data science and product management to find refined but practical solutions to design challenges. - Create multiple concepts and prototypes, recognizing when meticulous attention to detail is needed and when low-fidelity sketches are adequate for visualizing ideas. - Listen to users to develop the right product strategy and find solutions that delight our customers. - Leverage data to inform your design solutions. - Understand the strategic direction and vision for your working areas and ensure all UX efforts are aligned with that direction. - Raise the craft quality bar at Wealthsimple not just through your own work, but through the mentoring and development of Designers in your domain. - Become a subject matter expert in Stock & Option Trading. - Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies to integrate innovative solutions into our product design. Qualifications - A deep interest or experience with Trading and how we might build simpler, more accessible services for everyone. - Is an expert practitioner in the craft of product design, capable of delivering thoughtful, polished experiences, including motion and interaction design. - Demonstrated experience designing and shipping consumer-facing products. - Proven ability to turn complex problems into simple experiences. - Strong understanding of how design, product and engineering can work together to ship high-quality experiences quickly and at scale. - Can effectively communicate ideas and project direction to internal teams and stakeholders. - Experience generating user insight by shaping and leading research studies. - Ability to work independently, biasing towards action to drive projects forward.
