Role Description The Platform Architect is responsible for designing and evolving a Non‑VMware private cloud platform within the FCI Service Family, based on open‑source technologies. The platform is built on KVM virtualization, complemented by software‑defined networking and storage solutions, with a strong focus on automation using Terraform and Ansible. The platform will serve enterprise and SAP workloads by providing secure, scalable, and highly automated infrastructure. The primary focus is on end‑to‑end platform design and implementation, leveraging KVM and related open‑source technologies across compute, network, and storage layers. Key Responsibilities - Design and implement a SUSE-based virtualization platform using KVM as the hypervisor. - Ensure the platform is certified and optimized for SAP workloads, including sizing, high availability, and performance requirements. - Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines to enable repeatable, testable infrastructure changes. - Integrate the platform and automation workflows with ServiceNow (or similar ITSM tools). - Enable request, change, and incident workflows that trigger automation (Terraform/Ansible) and update CMDB where needed. - Maintain a living architecture document covering all layers: compute, storage, network, automation, observability, integrations. - Provide lightweight project and stakeholder management to prioritize features, manage risks, and align with business and SAP roadmaps. - Standardize on Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (infrastructure provisioning) and Ansible (configuration management). - Build reusable modules/roles to automate: Host provisioning and configuration. • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java Spring Boot and modern frontend applications using Angular • Build robust REST APIs, business services, integrations, and user-facing product features • Apply strong engineering practices, including OOP principles, software design patterns, clean code, and secure coding standards throughout the development lifecycle • Participate in system design, architecture discussions, technical decomposition, and solution implementation • Review code, improve application architecture, and enhance maintainability, performance, reliability, and scalability of existing systems • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues while ensuring high application quality and security • Leverage AI development tools to accelerate coding, testing, refactoring, documentation, and engineering productivity without compromising quality or security • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, QA Engineers, Designers, and Platform teams to deliver high-quality product increments • Support testing, deployment activities, production releases, and ongoing application enhancements while driving engineering best practices.

• Set the technical direction and architecture for complex, cross-team systems • Contribute to the design and implementation of complex features • Work with other Principal Engineers and Architects across the entire Technical Team, and act as a mentor to Staff and Senior Engineers • Be a trusted technical advisor for various stakeholders such as Engineering Managers, Technical VPs and Product Managers, influencing roadmap and architectural decisions • Be technically talented, able to contribute quality code, and be passionate about the technology - including how AI-assisted tools are changing the way we design, build, and ship software • Perform Code Reviews and coach Developers, Senior Engineers and Staff Engineers on why certain technical approaches need to be taken • Be responsible for the quality, scope, and timeliness of all your deliverables • Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development practices and tools across the team, helping raise the bar on engineering velocity and code quality

• You build a highly innovative MedTech tool. • You act as the Technical Lead within the team, make architectural decisions, and conduct code reviews. • You design, develop, and maintain backend services and implement APIs. • You collaborate with frontend developers to build end-to-end web applications. • You take responsibility for cloud deployment, monitoring, and the reliability of services. • You ensure code quality, testing, documentation, and DevOps best practices. • You brainstorm with product managers and R&D engineers about the product roadmap.
