Executive Director, Financial Planning – Commercial Growth

• Lead the annual and multi-year budgeting process across the Commercial Organization, ensuring alignment between financial plans and strategic priorities. • Develop sophisticated financial models to forecast revenue from commercialization activities, including licensing, royalties, milestones, equity participation, sponsored research, and strategic partnerships. • Build short-, medium-, and long-term growth forecasts and scenario models to support executive decision-making and institutional planning. • Partner with Business Development, Licensing, Intellectual Property, and Hope Catalyst teams to assess commercialization pipeline value and growth opportunities. • Create frameworks to measure and track commercialization value creation, including revenue generation, equity value, strategic partnerships, and future milestone potential. • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to guide resource allocation, investment prioritization, staffing decisions, and commercialization initiatives. • Develop business cases for emerging growth opportunities, including venture creation, diagnostics, data partnerships, GMP-related commercialization, and innovation platform services. • Support evaluation of partnership, licensing, and business development transactions by modeling financial impact and long-term value creation. • Design and deliver executive dashboards and performance reporting that provide visibility into budgets, growth targets, pipeline value, and return on investment. • Drive operational excellence through standardized forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and financial governance processes that support a culture of accountability and data-driven decision-making.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field required.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MS Finance, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, strategic finance, budgeting, forecasting, commercialization finance, healthcare finance, life sciences finance, or business operations.
- Demonstrated success leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across multiple departments or complex organizations.
- Advanced financial modeling expertise, including revenue forecasting, scenario planning, growth modeling, pipeline valuation, and business case development.
- Experience partnering with executive leaders on strategic planning, investment decisions, resource allocation, and performance management.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, dashboard development, KPI creation, and executive-level analytics.
- Experience translating complex business and commercialization opportunities into actionable financial insights and recommendations.
- Preferred experience within healthcare, academic medicine, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, technology transfer, venture creation, or commercialization environments.
- Familiarity with commercialization revenue models, including licensing, royalties, milestones, equity participation, start-up creation, sponsored research, and strategic partnerships.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- CPA, CFA, or comparable financial credential preferred but not required.

Role Description The Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Analyst is responsible for the timely, accurate, and controlled application of incoming cash receipts, daily bank activity reconciliation, and related general ledger postings. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of accounts receivable records, supporting cash visibility, and ensuring financial transactions are recorded in accordance with established procedures and internal controls. In addition to daily cash application responsibilities, this position is expected to analyze payment trends, identify process inefficiencies, and recommend or implement automation and process improvements that increase accuracy, reduce unapplied cash, and improve cycle time.
