Role Description Corpay is seeking a Tech Lead to join our Lodging division based in Atlanta, GA. This position falls under our lodging line of business. In this role, the Tech Lead will oversee a diverse cross-functional software engineering team ensuring that delivered projects are of high quality and delivered on time using agile methodology. This role involves software engineering, providing technical guidance, and fostering a collaborative team environment. You will report directly to the Director of Software Engineering and regularly collaborate with the technical teams. Role Responsibilities - Serving as the technical lead for product feature implementation while providing hands-on development leadership and establishing engineering best practices, coding standards, and solution quality. - Leading the design, architecture, and technical decomposition of complex features and initiatives to ensure scalability, security, maintainability, and alignment with business objectives. - Advising Technology Leadership on technical direction, solution approaches, feature delivery, and risk mitigation. - Applying advanced technical expertise to resolve complex business and technology challenges by evaluating trade-offs and recommending optimal solutions. - Driving technical decision-making across multiple workstreams while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and engineering standards. - Identifying and removing technical blockers that impact project delivery, product performance, or operational stability. - Partnering with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, Technical Operations, and Implementation teams to deliver business capabilities and customer solutions. - Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to understand application, infrastructure, integration, and business process dependencies. - Communicating technical concepts, implementation strategies, risks, and project status to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Influencing engineering standards, implementation methodologies, and operational best practices to improve delivery consistency. - Championing the adoption of AI-powered tools and enterprise automation to improve engineering productivity, delivery quality, and operational efficiency. - Evaluating emerging AI technologies and enterprise platforms to identify opportunities for workflow automation and developer productivity. - Promoting responsible AI adoption by establishing governance, security, compliance, and usage standards. - Mentoring developers and implementation team members on architecture, engineering best practices, Agile methodologies, AI-enabled development, and technical problem-solving. - Facilitating technical discussions, architecture reviews, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions to strengthen team capabilities. - Leading the resolution of complex technical issues through analysis, innovation, and industry best practices. - Developing innovative solutions that improve product scalability, customer experience, engineering efficiency, and implementation success. - Driving continuous improvement by leveraging automation, AI insights, reusable documentation, technical standards, and implementation playbooks. - Supporting onboarding, technical growth, AI literacy, and a culture of continuous learning and ownership. - Taking accountability for the successful technical execution of implementation initiatives, feature delivery, and project outcomes. - Monitoring project milestones, quality metrics, delivery commitments, and implementation progress while proactively managing risks. - Providing visibility into technical issues, production defects, and implementation challenges while partnering with Product and Engineering teams to drive resolution. - Ensuring project scope, customer requirements, dependencies, estimates, and implementation criteria are fully defined and approved before execution. - Partnering with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, monitoring, observability, and operational resilience. - Ensuring compliance with release management, change management, and deployment governance standards. - Coordinating production readiness activities with Infrastructure, Configuration, Technical Operations, and implementation teams to support successful customer deployments. - Maintaining expertise in application architecture, software engineering, databases, integrations, enterprise application delivery, and emerging AI-enabled engineering practices while identifying opportunities for innovation. Qualifications - 8+ years of experience. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). - Extensive experience in software engineering, application architecture, and enterprise application delivery. - Proven experience leading the technical design and implementation of complex software solutions. - Strong knowledge of modern software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, integrations, databases, and enterprise application technologies. - Experience working in Agile software development environments and leading technical delivery across cross-functional teams. - Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, release management, and operational readiness. - Experience evaluating and implementing AI-powered development tools, automation platforms, or enterprise AI solutions. - Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical decision-making skills with the ability to balance business and technical priorities. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers, leading technical discussions, conducting code and design reviews, and developing technical talent. - Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, security, governance, compliance, and software engineering best practices. - Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and software engineering trends.
