Job Description

Database Engineer

TechFlow, Inc.

• Install, configure, administer, patch, upgrade, and manage the lifecycle of Oracle database environments. • Monitor database performance, availability, and health, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and operational issues. • Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization, and capacity planning. • Implement and maintain database security controls, including user access management, encryption, auditing, and compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements. • Develop, maintain, and regularly validate comprehensive backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to meet Government Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) requirements. • Design, implement, and maintain database schema changes using version-controlled migration scripts integrated with CI/CD pipelines. • Ensure database deployment scripts are automated, repeatable, defect-free, and environment agnostic. • Maintain configuration management documentation and version control for all database configurations and settings. • Support end-to-end traceability of database requirements through implementation, testing, and documentation. • Collaborate with software development teams to design efficient database structures and support application modernization initiatives. • Support ETL processes, data integration activities, and maintenance of database metadata and data dictionary documentation. • Participate in troubleshooting production issues and implementing continuous improvements to database operations. • Ensure compliance with organizational standards for security, quality, documentation, and configuration management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Oracle Database Administration experience supporting enterprise environments.
  • Extensive experience installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and administering Oracle databases.
  • Experience developing and managing version-controlled database migration scripts integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning, optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience implementing database security hardening, encryption, auditing, and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance.
  • Experience designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining enterprise backup and recovery strategies.
  • Experience supporting Oracle databases hosted in cloud environments, including AWS.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, database integration, and data dictionary documentation.
  • Experience working within Agile software development and DevSecOps environments.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Preferred Qualifications**
  • Experience supporting U.S. Air Force or other Department of Defense software programs.
  • Experience with AWS database services and cloud-native database architectures.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated database deployments.
  • Experience supporting high-availability and disaster recovery database architectures.
  • Knowledge of Git, GitLab CI/CD, and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with database monitoring and performance management tools.
  • Familiarity with RMF accreditation processes and DoD cybersecurity policies.
