Role Description Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota seeks an experienced and energetic individual for the position of full-time, Core Faculty Member of the online Master’s of Social Work program. This is a full-time, 12-month, renewable, benefits-eligible position. The position is responsible for: - Teaching assigned courses including planning learning experiences designed to address the course objectives. - Facilitating learning through engagement. - Assessing student learning. - Developing and reviewing curriculum. - Student advising. - Assessing student achievement of competencies and outcomes. - Enhancing the scholarship and professional expertise of the program and the School of Health and Human Services through activities such as participating in faculty meetings and committees. Salary Range: $70,000-80,000/year Qualifications - An MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited institution is required; a doctoral degree in social work or a related field is preferred. - More than five years of social work practice experience in the field and an academic setting will be considered. - Experience in higher education is preferred, including teaching, program development, and/or administration, with experience in the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation standards. - Currently licensed to practice social work in the state of Minnesota or be eligible for licensure in Minnesota is required; preference will be given to candidates with LICSW/LCSW licensure. Requirements - Expertise in, or a willingness to learn, the teaching of adult students. - Demonstrated basic proficiency and interest in educational technology such as Canvas and Panopto. - Ability to work effectively within a team structure to carry out the mission of the University. - Strong written and oral communication skills; must have fluency in the English language. - Learning-centered, student-focused, with the ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. - Willingness to adapt curricula and teaching to current trends in the field. - Demonstrated excellence in online teaching, including the ability to deliver course content and assess learning objectives. - Experience teaching adult students is helpful. - Exemplify the core values of the profession as specified in the Social Work Code of Ethics and the core competencies specified in Council on Social Work Education Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. - Support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary’s University as a Lasallian Catholic institution.
