The Opportunity: Working remotely in Huron County and Southwestern Ontario with others in the Exeter Lakeshore Times Advance and Goderich Signal-Star newsrooms, the ideal candidate is an enterprising self-starter and team player with a sense for stories that resonate with Huron County's diverse readership. The candidate should be able to cultivate sources and find interesting community-focused stories while writing in a way that is clear, concise and engaging. What you'll do: Reporting and writing stories for print, web and mobile audiences – as well as tailoring content to meet the varying needs of those platforms.  Initiating and developing ideas for daily coverage, enterprise stories and investigative projects.  Cultivating sources and establishing expertise to provide a broad range of stories that reflect Huron County. Taking photographs to illustrate local events and complement news stories Who you are: A university degree, college diploma or equivalent real-world experience in journalism. Flexibility to write effectively in breaking news, features and short form is essential.  A keen interest in community journalism is critical to the role. Experience in photography is an asset. Compensation: Employment offers presented to the selected candidate are based on a combination of qualifications, experience, responsibilities of the role and the candidate's location.
