We are seeking a Service Engineer – Turbocharger to deliver expert technical support and comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for large turbocharger systems typically found on marine engines and large-bore industrial applications. About the Role: As a Service Engineer – Turbocharger, you will: - Perform Assembly and Disassembly: Execute assembly and disassembly of turbochargers and their components according to manufacturer instructions. - Inspect and Diagnose: Assess turbochargers for wear and damage, accurately diagnose mechanical issues, and determine the necessary repairs. - Conduct Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, reconditioning, and parts replacement to optimize turbocharger performance. - Prepare Technical Reports: Write detailed technical reports on the condition of turbochargers and the maintenance or repair work performed. - Ensure Quality Control: Verify that all maintenance and repairs meet established quality standards and safety regulations. - Provide Customer Support: Offer technical advice and support to customers, both onsite and remotely. - Mentor and Lead Teams: Lead small teams of technicians as needed, ensuring efficient collaboration and skill development. - Travel Extensively: Ability to work weekends as required to support service schedules Education & Experience Requirements: - Education: Recognized electrical or mechanical certification from an accredited trade school, military training institution, or associate degree in a related field. - Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with turbochargers (e.g., ABB, MAN, NAPIER, MET), marine diesel engines, or similar mechanical systems. A combination of education and experience may be considered. - Skills: Strong technical understanding of turbocharger systems, effective problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to write detailed technical reports. - Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
