• Lead Workday Financials & Grants Management Solutions • Serve as a functional lead for Workday Financials and Workday Grants Management, partnering closely with GCS, Research Administration, and Finance & Accounting in a higher education and research environment • Analyze, design, and optimize WHOI’s Financial and Grants Management systems and processes, leveraging Workday best practices • Partner closely with GCS to ensure Workday configurations support sponsor terms, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements • Support the full sponsored research lifecycle in Workday, including award setup, budgeting, amendments, cost sharing, F&A, billing, revenue recognition, and closeout • Support core financial management processes across General Ledger/Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Assets, Cash Management and Financial Planning & Analysis ensuring alignment with institution accounting policies and best practices • Collaborate with Finance & Accounting leadership and business process owners to design, optimize, and govern Workday Financials configurations and controls • Act as a key functional lead and trusted advisor during Workday implementations, enhancements, and optimization initiatives • Coordinate and support system testing, user acceptance testing, and issue resolution in partnership with business and technical teams • Support integrations between Workday and other institutional systems and tools • Develop dashboards and metrics that support research administration, financial management, grants oversight, audit readiness, and leadership decision-making • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to support operational and strategic needs • Provide ongoing functional support to Finance & Accounting, GCS & Research Administration, and the broader WHOI Workday user community • Coordinate system enhancements, upgrades, documentation, and end-user training • Develop clear user guides, training materials, and process documentation tailored to a research environment • Proactively identify opportunities to improve system usability, productivity, and user experience.

• Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday Foundation Data, ensuring accurate configuration, governance, and ongoing maintenance. • Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for Workday through a tiered support model, resolving complex system issues and identifying root causes. • Design and implement scalable technical solutions that improve system functionality, operational efficiency, and user experience. • Ensure system configurations align with enterprise data architecture, security standards, and organizational objectives. • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, recommend best practices, and implement sustainable Workday solutions. • Lead Foundation Data configuration and maintenance activities to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance. • Support data conversion efforts, including mass data loads, validation, reconciliation, and data quality initiatives. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of core HR data across Workday and integrated systems. • Monitor data integrity and proactively identify opportunities to improve governance and standardization. • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, balancing operational support with project execution. • Lead assigned Workday projects from planning through implementation, defining timelines, identifying risks, and ensuring successful delivery. • Manage stakeholder expectations through clear communication, regular status updates, and proactive issue resolution. • Perform complex system and compliance audits, including SOX and HRTS controls. • Analyze audit findings, drive corrective actions, and recommend long-term preventive solutions. • Identify risks and escalate issues appropriately while ensuring timely resolution and compliance with established controls. • Analyze system performance and business processes to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and simplification. • Champion continuous improvement by identifying and implementing measurable enhancements within assigned functional areas. • Own documentation for assigned functional areas, ensuring work instructions are accurate, current, and compliant with organizational standards. • Develop, review, and approve technical documentation, process guides, and knowledge articles. • Identify documentation gaps and implement improvements to strengthen operational consistency. • Develop training materials and mentor team members to increase technical capability and knowledge sharing.

• Derive, implement, and test **component models** for avionics system simulations • Maintain and improve the overall system simulation environment • Contribute to the codebase for model evaluation, analysis, and report generation • Perform structured software testing on own and colleagues’ implementations • Maintain clean code structure, documentation, and traceability • Collaborate with technical experts on model derivation, validation, and updates • Perform **system identification** for component and system-level models based on test data • Support teams using models for flight control software verification and concept design studies • Challenge and improve technical concepts, tools, methods, and workflows

• Lead end-to-end **spacecraft avionics architecture** definition • Define system decomposition and interface strategy across on-board computers and payloads • Architect high-speed networking payloads, backplanes, and system boot/recovery concepts • Design robust **Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery** strategies, including safe-mode behavior and watchdog concepts • Document and maintain the technical baseline, including architecture diagrams and design justifications • Perform engineering analyses related to **radiation tolerance, EMI/EMC, signal integrity, and power distribution** • Collaborate with networking, GNC, RF, software, FPGA, and mechanical engineering teams • Support technical decision-making across architecture trade-offs and system constraints
