The role carries a particular, though not exclusive, emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) and the future of work. Working in coordination with the Manager, Research & Insights, you will help ensure PMI’s thought leadership is evidence-led, forward-looking, and aligned to business priorities. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s strongly preferred in economics, business, public policy, international relations, strategy, computer science, or related field. - 3–6 years of experience in research, insights, analytics, strategy, or related roles such as management consulting, corporate strategy, or macroeconomic or industry research. - Experience researching, analyzing, or advising on AI trends, technology disruption, or the future of work. - Demonstrated experience leading trends, foresight, or macroeconomic research initiatives independently. - Experience translating research into executive-facing insights, narratives, and strategic recommendations. - Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional, or global environments preferred. - Preference for candidates with labor, workforce, or future-of-work interest or expertise; familiarity with project and portfolio management or professional-services domains a plus. - Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with demonstrated methodological rigor. - Comfort with both qualitative/survey research and quantitative techniques (e.g., segmentation, benchmarking, driver analysis), including the ability to help identify measurable variables from business questions. - Demonstrated working knowledge of the AI landscape and its trajectory, including ability to assess credibility of claims and translate technical developments into business and professional implications. - Experience in macroeconomic analysis and trends/foresight techniques. - Structured problem-solving and hypothesis-driven thinking honed in consulting or strategy environments. - Ability to synthesize complex, multi-source information into clear, strategic insight. - Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills. - Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day work. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready storytelling. - Ability to operate independently and manage ambiguity in an asynchronous remote environment. - Intellectually curious; able to stay current in a fast-moving AI and technology landscape. - Collaborative mindset with ability to influence without authority. - Fluent in English (PMI’s business language).
