Job Description
Software Engineer in Test – Performance Testing
Nextech Systems
• Design, develop, and execute scalable performance test strategies to validate the reliability, scalability, and responsiveness of enterprise applications and distributed systems. • Develop and maintain automated performance test scripts using k6 to simulate real-world user workloads and identify system bottlenecks. • Analyze application, database, and infrastructure performance metrics to identify performance issues and provide recommendations for optimization. • Design and maintain reusable performance testing frameworks, utilities, dashboards, and reporting solutions. • Build and maintain performance dashboards and automated reports using InfluxDB, Grafana, and Flux queries. • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to establish performance requirements and integrate performance testing into the software development lifecycle. • Integrate performance testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous performance validation. • Execute load, stress, endurance, spike, scalability, and capacity testing across cloud-native and distributed application environments. • Develop SQL queries to support test validation, performance analysis, and database performance investigations. • Produce performance analysis reports, communicate findings, and partner with development teams to validate performance improvements. • Support performance testing in containerized and distributed environments using Docker and Kubernetes where applicable. • Promote performance engineering best practices, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Define, monitor, and analyze key performance metrics, including latency, throughput, and system resource utilization, using observability platforms such as InfluxDB, Prometheus, Grafana, and similar tools.
